❤🚙Road Trip!🚙❤
Three of our current Graduate Students recently attended the Oklahoma Research Day Career and Graduate Fair at Northeastern State University. Our students had the opportunity to share information to attendees about the KU Indigenous Studies Graduate Programs. They also spent time in conversation and a quick stop at the Cherokee National History Museum. Thank you for all your hard work! #IndigenousStudies #cherokeenation #universityofkansas
📰💙Good News!💙📰
Our amazing faculty member, Sarah Deer was featured in the AP Article “New Mexico launches investigation of forced sterilization of Native American women.”
This took place in New Mexico, in the 1970’s, when the U.S agency that provides healthcare to Native Americans sterilized thousands of native women without their consent.
Sarah highlighted the importance of the stories that women in native communities carry and how this new investigation could create a pathway for accountability. #indigenousstudies #rockchalk #APNews
