TAKE THE TRIP!!!! If you have been wanting to do something for work or simply just for pleasure to take a few days away from the family I implore you to find a way to make it happen!!!!! (And if you’re not ready or don’t want to that’s great too) it took a village transparently for this to happen with Daniels work schedule. Grandparents and nanny stepped up as well so that this work trip could happen. But I truly feel refreshed because of it and so grateful! I believe I’m able to be a better mom after taking a few days to fill my cup. My first trip without my baby 🥹🤭 the second I saw that email come through I knew I wouldn’t go bc how could I leave my 12 month old baby boy?? I couldn’t help but feel mom guilt and worry people would say I was a “bad mom” for leaving my baby to do something for myself. Once you’re a mom you can’t do things for yourself apparently. As I thought about it over and over again I felt this urge to discuss it with my husband who immediately said we would find a way for me to go and experience sailing with the one and only @virginvoyages !!!!!! Let me tell you I’m so lucky to have a supportive family who priotitizes the mother of the household. I laughed and danced my way through this Virgin cruise and it was impeccable. In every way!!!! Also total side note this was a ship with only creators and it was the most diverse group of kind people in every way! I’ve always wondered what people spend on first birthday parties!?!? They always looks so extravagant online and I wanted to see if I could create something beautiful and special for under $400 while still feeding 20 people lunch. And I think we nailed it!! It was such an incredible special today full of love and joy and we just felt so celebrated by the people who love us most. Let me just it’s also special and beautiful to just have your family unit on that special day and celebrate with your close knit family. We just decided we kept him alive for a year …. I have told God in the past while in the midst of my grief with recurrent loss “you don’t understand how I feel” I’m quickly reminded how God sent His ONLY son to die on the cross for my sins and the sins of the entire world.
