By the grace of God, in 2 days I will be graduating from New York University with my Bachelor’s in Economics & Data Science.
These past 4 years have shaped, and transformed me in ways I never could have imagined. College was an opportunity to break every box placed in front of me and step into spaces I thought I didn’t belong in. From interning in the legal field, engineering, and financial services this experience has shown me that the sky is the limit.
None of this would have been possible without my parents’ sacrifices, prayers, and unwavering support. Everything I’ve accomplished stands on the foundation they worked so hard to build for me, and I carry that with me in every room I enter.
This accomplishment is bigger than me. It’s for the younger version of myself and for everyone coming after me who needs the reminder that they belong in every room they dream of entering.
Truly, everything works out for those who love the Lord. Thank you Jesus.
My mother came to this country 26 years ago, alone, with nothing but $50, a small carry-on, and a dream. Today, by the grace of God, I am proud to say I am the first in my family to graduate college.
There were moments I doubted myself, times I believed my dreams were too big for a girl like me. But I was never walking alone. Even in uncertainty, God was writing a greater story.
This degree is dedicated to my parents, who sacrificed everything to see me succeed. They believed in me even in the moments I struggled to believe in myself. Without them, none of this would have been possible.
I am a product of my mother’s cries to God in prayers, A product of my father’s faith and unwavering support. Their love carried me through, and in the moments I couldn’t do it for myself, I did it for them.
Mommy and Daddy, thank you for seeing what was possible in me long before I could. I am forever grateful.
This degree doesn’t just have my name on it; it carries your sacrifices, your prayers, and every step it took to get here.
