@nancyboy_band in to start work on a couple of new tracks. More sparkly Ludwig. Got the old NT5s with the Oktavamod upgraded capsules on the drum overheads to give a clean, somewhat mid-scooped drum sound.
A couple of snaps of tracking with @lostworlds__ on the weekend, featuring the return of the green, sparkly Ludwig kit (its first outing for 2026, I believe).
Found this fellow waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs as I exited the studio after a bit of mixing. If you see one of these (olive green/brown top with a blue/grey tinge, bright yellow underside) at the studio, don’t freak out! It’s just a common tree snake, completely harmless and very cute.

Today, my band @toad.cult.doom stepped into the studio to finally record our album, with the very clever Cam from @incrementalrecords . We are very excited to finally bring you some recorded music, and two shows later this month with the legends @wanderingmindband in Nambour on the 21st, and with the powerhouse that is @holystonefuzz and the mighty southern lords @_witchskull , at Blutes on the 28th. Starting the new studio year with the last day of live tracking for a new @ghostnotes1 album. For the last song (a very delicate number) we swapped the drums into the main tracking room so that we could completely isolate the trumpet in the smaller room.
Back to working through the big backlog of mixing and mastering tomorrow before some more tracking next week.
