As part of our STEM Engagement Programme, we were proud to host a fantastic Company Day at Brandauer last week.
We welcomed students from @harborne.academy who have already taken part in our STEM workshops, taster days, and pre-apprenticeship programme. This visit gave them an invaluable opportunity to experience real career pathways and see industry roles in action.
During the day, students:
• Met CEO Rowan Crozier and learned more about Brandauer and the engineering sector
• Toured the facility to explore the materials, machinery, and expertise behind the company’s success
• Took part in a business improvement challenge, presenting innovative ideas for new products or services Brandauer could introduce
One learner from the winning team was awarded a week’s work experience placement at Brandauer - an incredible opportunity to further develop their skills and industry insight.
This experience was hugely valuable for both students and staff, and we are incredibly grateful to Brandauer and Rowan for their support in making it possible.
Opportunities like Company Days are essential in inspiring young people, broadening horizons, and developing the next generation of talent. We would love to see even more businesses opening their doors to support STEM engagement.

Huge congratulations to Tammy, who completed her skydive yesterday and has already raised an incredible £2,500 for the amazing 👏✈️
@maa_charity operates and funds three air ambulances covering Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands - providing lifesaving emergency care when it matters most.
Every year, it costs £16 million to keep these aircraft flying, with the average air ambulance mission costing £2,950. The charity receives no Government or National Lottery funding for its daily missions and relies entirely on the generosity of local people and businesses.
Since 1991, the charity has responded to more than 80,000 missions, making it one of the busiest air ambulance services in the UK.
