Boris Kochan ist Designer, Unternehmer, Autor und Berater, der Unternehmen, Organisationen und Kommunikationsprozesse gestaltet. Nach einer Ausbildung in Layout und Typografie sammelte er journalistische und technische Erfahrungen, bevor er 1981 ein eigenes Grafik- und Textbüro gründete – der Ursprung der heutigen Agentur Kochan & Partner, die heute mit rund 40 Mitarbeitenden in München und Berlin zu den größten inhabergeführten CD/CI-Agenturen Deutschlands zählt. Bis Ende 2022 leitete er das Unternehmen gemeinsam mit Gabriele Werner, bleibt jedoch als Mehrheitsgesellschafter und Senior Advisor aktiv – insbesondere für langjährige Kunden wie Studiosus Reisen. Kochan kuratiert und moderiert Konferenzen, Round Tables und Workshops zu Markenentwicklung, Kommunikation und Designpolitik weltweit. Als Präsident des internationalen Schriftprojekts GRANSHAN organisiert er Wettbewerbe, Ausstellungen und Publikationen zu nicht-lateinischen Schriften. Gemeinsam mit Horst Moser gründete er die QVED, heute EDCH, Europas größte Editorial-Design-Konferenz. Nach sieben Jahren als Vorsitzender der Typographischen Gesellschaft München wurde er 2016 Gründungspräsident des Deutschen Designtags, den er auch als Sprecher der Sektion Design im Deutschen Kulturrat vertritt – von 2019 bis 2025 als dessen Vizepräsident. Außerdem ist Boris Kochan Initiator und Kurator von DIVE'25. DIVE’25 ist Einladung und Experiment zugleich: Drei Tage voller Impulse, Gespräche, Round Tables und Workshops – und die Chance, an einer neuen Konferenzkultur mitzuwirken, die inspiriert, verbindet und wirkt.
