Most of you already know that I had a rather unfortunate Q-tip accident (yes, it sounds ridiculous), which resulted in me stabbing my own eardrum. As of now, I’m half-deaf. In my right ear, I can only hear low frequencies—and mids, but only if the sound source is extremely close. I recently had surgery, and hopefully, in a few weeks, my hearing will return. But for now, there’s been no noticeable improvement.
This has been, without a doubt, the most challenging medical issue I’ve ever faced. Losing half of my hearing is far from fun. Not only can I no longer enjoy the thing I love most in the world - listening to music - but I also struggle to understand people, follow conversations, and even orient myself in my surroundings. Everything feels disorienting, muffled, distant, and overwhelming.
With that in mind, I’ve decided to take a break from social media. I simply can’t keep up right now. If you need to reach me, please send me a message on WhatsApp or email - I’ll do my best to respond, but it may take some time.
To illustrate this post, here’s probably the best photo I’ve ever taken - on a melancholic afternoon on a cruise ship in the Mediterranean, nine years ago.
Going back home from one of the best trips of my life. And it was so short, so sudden, but so real. Thank you @nichidono (happy birthday!!!) and @beatrizcofragoso for the amazing hospitality, @anacatavares and @alessandro.devillart for the incredible reunion, and of course, @charlei.sa for being my best friend, my best company, and all the love I can take every day. (Special mention to @t.dmart because we almost got to meet again - next time it'll happen)
#palmeiraspelomundo @palmeiras
Let me count the ways how I love you:
it's like that gentle wind you feel at dawn;
it's like that first sun that hits the dew;
it's like that cloud with a gold lining telling us softly
that it'll be a good day, a good day for us.
Thank you, thank you, thank you ❤️

Months ago my friend @brendon9091 told me he was going on an amazing trip around South East Asia along with @alisha_alvensleben .
I knew that meant we would spend a while without seeing each other, so to make that moment a little less bittersweet I gave him my loyal desk protector, this tiny miniature goat, to be an extra buddy for their trip.
Then, almost every day I would get amazing pictures of the newly-named Leonidas enjoying the sun in Asia. There are many more, but Instagram only allows me 10.
So yeah, now I can look at these beautiful pictures and imagine how awesome this huge world is; there is just so much to be seen, and so many friends that you can bring along. Here’s to Leonidas.
A little over a year ago I first visited London for work. The city was so beautiful and interesting that I finally gave in and started an Instagram account, just so I could share the pictures I had.
Last weekend, I decided to go back to London again, purely for leisure this time. Even though I have already traveled a big part of the world, I still had never been on a trip for fun all by myself. And then I did it.
I met incredible people, had incredible talks, saw incredible things, laughed incredibly loud.
I could not recommend it more.
It definitely felt great to represent one of my favorite audio companies in the world at #Studioszene this year. Thank you to everyone involved, you made it a fantastic experience ❤
