Just a girl, standing on a cliff, looking to see if she can see Antarctica…👀 because that’s the next stop if you end up in this ocean 😆 Views for days from this rocky outcrop-it’s just a shame I didn’t wait around a bit longer for the gorgeous golden sunset that eventually lit up the sky. 🤦🏻♀️ But you can’t win them all. It’s that time of year again 🤩🌌
The funniest thing happened when I was photographing the little blue church in the first image. We had set up our cameras and were starting to frame up our shots when we started hearing an animal grunting quite close by. Being a New Moon night, it was pretty much pitch black to our eyes, so we couldn’t tell where it was coming from. We decided to keep photographing & just keep an ear out for if it got closer. Over the next few minutes, it didn’t get closer but it did get louder and for some reason we bolted for the car, at one point, two of us trying to jump in the same door, leaving our equipment set up somewhere in the dark 😆 After a few minutes, we figured out that what we thought was a wild boar hunting us in the dark, turned out to be a rather vocal koala in the tree next to my car 😆😆😆 Don let your imagination run away with you in the dark friends! 😆😆😆
Anyway, if you’re keen to *not* get chased by a boar in the dark and catch some Milky Way skies, let me know! I’m hoping to get out a bit more this season!

Some recent and some not so recent images from my Gold Coast adventures. This stretch of “sea shore” has to be one of my favourites for its versatility & beauty. Sunrise? Yep! Sunset? You betcha. Surfers, wildlife, long exposures, reflections, it’s all there. Pity I have to drive the M1 to get there…😆😆😆 How many of these spots can you name?

Throwback to this gorgeous morning at Port Macquarie, standing on the rocks, watching the flow and the sun peeking between the clouds. I was down here for work, but managed to build in a couple of days either side of the job and one of the mornings had this cracking sunrise. I love being up to watch the fresh day start, especially when it looks like this.
Now, important question-which one do you like better-the slow flow (image 1) or the foggy flow (image 2)? I’d love to know.

Scenic Rim nights under clear skies are such a dream. Looking forward to more of these this coming Milky Way season. Apparently we’re due for some more comet sightings soon too-I haven’t actually done much reading on those yet, does anyone know if we’re likely to get a good look at them? Hopefully we get some good sky-viewing and photographing conditions this year because I struggled a bit last year. Everyone do their anti-rain dance for the next new moon…😬😆

The difference a few moments make 🌊
There’s only a few seconds between these shots but I feel like the vibe is different because of those few seconds. One with the wave spreading along the sand, towards the camera and one with the wave just starting to unfurl. This is why I like staying at a spot for a while, allowing multiple waves to wash through and see what shows up in those few seconds you get with each wave. It’s also wildly therapeutic standing and watching the water ebb and flow-definitely a great way to spend an afternoon. Which one grabs your eye more-the first or second frame?
