Last month, we hit the streets of @cityofottawa —spanning across both the @uottawacampus and @carleton_u campuses—for our Sprint Against Student Homelessness. 🏃💨 ​Participants didn’t just compete; they navigated the real-world hurdles students face in today's housing market. Through every challenge, we highlighted the need for the stability and support every student deserves to succeed. ​The Challenges: 📍 Shelter Build Relay 📍 Moving Day Madness 📍 Keep The Budget Challenge at Massine’s Your Independent Grocer 📍 Quickie Snack Dash (Somerset St. location) 📍 Myth vs. Reality Trivia (hosted by @nextroom_ca at Carleton & @thekoifoundation at uOttawa) 📍 VR @sandboxvr_ottawa 📍 The Perfect Match ​A massive thank you to our sponsors @uottawafss , @thisismyalma , and @quickiestores for making this possible. On April 28th, we protested in front of Carleton’s Board of Governors. After one year of lobbying the university to follow their own ethical guidelines and divest from genocide, they continue to refuse to do the bare minimum. This is a reminder to the administration that we are not going anywhere and we will continue to disrupt their genocidal Board until they divest!

One Mission. 🏁🏠 ​Earlier this month, the streets of Ottawa became the stage for change. @nextroom_ca teamed up with @thekoifoundation , @hta.society , and @impact.carleton , to host the Sprint Against Student Homelessness. ​This wasn’t just a race—it was a city-wide movement. Across @uottawacampus , @carleton_u , and the @cityofottawa , teams tackled challenges designed to expose the reality of housing scams, tenant rights, and the growing prevalence of student homelessness. ​The Impact: 💰 Over $500 raised for @ysb.bsj 📦 Essential donation items collected for local youth in need 🤝 Real-world team building rooted in advocacy 🏆 Over $2,000 worth of prizes distributed to all participants ​A massive thank you to our community partners who fueled the Sprint: 1️⃣ ​@thisismyalma : For the incredible support and the use of the stunning Collective Lounge at Alma Byward Market. 2️⃣ ​@uottawafss : For your generous donation and seamless logistics support. 3️⃣ ​@sandboxvr_ottawa : For pushing our teams to the limit with the VR challenge. ​4️⃣ @yourindependentgrocer (Centretown): For hosting our critical budgeting challenge. 5️⃣ ​@quickiestores : For the generous donation and use of your Somerset location. 6️⃣ ​Ottawa’s Small Business Community: Shoutout to the 10+ local businesses who provided prizes! Notre Course contre l'itinérance chez les étudiants arrive à Carleton le 1er avril 2026 ! 🏡 Cet événement est entièrement dirigé par des étudiants et conçu par et pour la communauté étudiante. Les participants formeront des équipes de 3 à 4 personnes et se déplaceront entre différents points de contrôle animés par NextRoom.ca (@nextroom_ca ), des clubs étudiants et des partenaires communautaires sur le campus et à travers la ville. Le transport en autobus est inclus. Attendez-vous à des défis dynamiques, à des étapes à travers la ville et à de nombreux prix. Vous ferez équipe, courrez contre la montre et contribuerez à mettre en lumière un enjeu qui touche de près de nombreux étudiants. Le plan de match : 📍 La course : équipes de 3 à 4 personnes parcourant 5 à 7 points de contrôle sur le campus et en ville 🧩 Les défis : activités interactives de sensibilisation à l’itinérance étudiante 🏆 Les prix : de GROS prix — argent comptant, cartes-cadeaux et nourriture 🎉 La célébration de clôture : musique, nourriture et ambiance festive 📸 La visibilité : possibilité d’apparaître dans du contenu professionnel capté tout au long de la journée Les détails : 📅 Date : 1er avril 2026 | 13 h 30 à 18 h 30 📍 Lieu : campus de Carleton et centre-ville d’Ottawa 💰 Coût : 100 % GRATUIT L’objectif ne se limite pas à gagner : il s’agit d’apprendre, de sensibiliser et de soutenir nos pairs.
