I love processing, creating, and living with my artwork in the studio. I also love knowing that afterward, it will be somewhere in the world, near or far, in someone’s home, with someone who values it. Someone who sees it with different eyes, with their own story 🌍❤️ @aoutgallery @zeid_elamine @mariarodriguezmolero

🏄🏻‍♂️ A few weeks ago, my solo exhibition in Madrid, at @galeriayustoginer , came to a close. I’ve had a busy month with projects in Panama with @ccecasadelsoldado , at @centrepompidoumalaga in Málaga, and with my studio work. Now I need to organize my schedule a bit, and I’ll share all of this with you soon. 🙇🏻‍♂️ I just wanted to thank everyone who came to see the exhibition in Madrid until the very end. I’m happy to be able to share what I do with you. You know that.

💟A while back, I found myself thinking about the people in my life. How is it possible to have such different friends? Each one with their own unique job, their own way of living, with goals and dreams that couldn’t be more different. Some of them know each other, while others I’d rather keep separate. Friends I’ve met through old jobs, like the one I had as an elevator operator years ago, when I covered for a relative on sick leave. You run into some really interesting people in a hotel elevator. There are those boring gigs that really get you thinking, like be a human statue. I didn’t last even two days. I’ve also connected with a ton of folks as a martial arts instructor, in my most recent work modeling for TV ads, or when I taught carpentry in prisons. Some friends stick around for good, while others just fade away. I just try to enjoy the journey with whoever wants to come along. Their lives are part of mine too. I’m inspired by their plans, I get to know their thoughts, their fears and interests, which end up becoming mine as well, keeping me a little distracted. In a way, I feel like I’m a piece of them. Sometimes I capture those moments with my own eyes, and other times I like to imagine how they’d capture their moments with their eyes 🏁 “Un poco distraído”. You can still watch the show on @galeriayustoginer Madrid, until February 28th.

😅 A man stopped me while I was painting in the street. I thought he was going to scold me for painting, the usual, or maybe congratulate me, also the usual. But that wasn’t the case. He asked if I was the one whistling. Yes, it was me. Is this guy crazy? He’s well-dressed, looks formal, not some random lunatic. Am I doing something wrong, sir? On the contrary, he gave me his phone number and asked if I wanted to make money, and not by painting, exactly. He loved my whistling 😗 🎶 It’s not that I’m a professional whistler, I was just happy. This man worked for a television production company and they wanted me to do a commercial. This is surreal; a few days ago I was painting and now I’m in a television studio. I provided the sound and another actor put his face, eyebrows, and lips in a sensual pose. I warned them... it’s not the same. The director wanted me to be the one to provide the image and sound. The whole package. He thought I was perfect. I explained the small detail of “not showing my face” for the sake of anonymity as an artist. He told me the ad would air in other countries: Mexico, Chile, Argentina, South Africa, Senegal, Egypt, India, Japan, Australia, and a few more. The product in the ad wasn’t sold in those countries, or in mine. Besides, nobody would recognize me. That’s weird man. Accept 🤷🏻‍♂️ Was I a professional whistler now? How was I supposed to explain it? That was the first of many. Guys, don’t hold back, go out there and be happy doing what you love. Maybe your time will come someday 💝

😘😘 Thank you to everyone who dedicated a little of their time and effort to attend the opening a few days ago. I see the photo and think, “All these people came to see what I do? Outside my city? And they don’t even know me? Wow!” 🤔 A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supports me, follows me, shares my posts, writes to me, and gives me so much love. You are the ones who give meaning to what I do 👉🏻❤️ For everyone asking: you can see the exhibition at @galeriayustoginer until February 28th, during gallery hours. Come on in, it’s free! ✌🏻
