The IMN team was saddened to hear the news of Albert Mazibuko’s passing. Albert was one of the original members of Ladysmith Black Mambazo, and after Joseph’s retirement became the spokesperson and elder of the touring group. Albert retired from actively touring a couple of years ago, and we have missed him dearly. He was and is the soul of the group, and we are blessed his spirit will indeed stay with those lucky enough to have shared the world with him.
“To have peace we need peace inside us. To have peace inside us we need to have each other. The world is a big community…The message for future Ladysmith Black Mambazo: I think they will be around for a hundred or two hundred years, it’s up to them. We are here to help them and hold their hands and show them the way because we have been traveling this road for a long time.” -Albert Mazibuko
