I love Burning Man. I hate Burning Man. Those feelings are twins. Right now, I’m not feeling the Playa — I’m deep in writing mode. Another book. Post-apocalyptic sci-fi. Partially inspired by the beauty & the madness of this thing we built in the dust. The chaos. The connection. The ache.
To everyone who is committed & headed to the Black Rock Desert — Dancing, tripping, falling in love under God’s favorite sunset — I see you. I miss you. I love you.
As for me? I’m 50/50. But this track by RÜFÜS DU SOL, “Next to Me,” hits something primal. It’s the sound of everything I’m trying to say without saying it.
