Last week, the Next Generation Commission had the honor of participating in the Girls on the Run Mid State press conference and I’m fine. Project exhibit to help raise awareness around youth mental health.    It was incredibly moving to hear young people share their stories, reflect on their experiences, and use art to express emotions that are often difficult to put into words. Their honesty and courage were a powerful reminder of why creating spaces where youth feel seen, heard, and supported matters so deeply.   As youth mental health continues to be a priority across Pennsylvania, Governor Shapiro’s proposed budget includes: 🧠 $10 million for the 988 crisis hotline to support youth and young adults in crisis
🏥 $5 million for walk in crisis stabilization centers to expand access to immediate mental health care
🏫 $3.2 million for community based behavioral health services to help individuals safely transition out of institutional care  💚Expanded access to behavioral health providers and insurance protections to improve affordability and access for families and young people   Mental health support is not just about responding in crisis. It is about prevention, education, access, and making sure young people know they are not alone.   Thank you to Girls on the Run Mid State and the I’m fine. Project for the important work you are doing to uplift young people and continue these conversations across our communities.    #panextgeneration #youthmentalhealth #SuicidePrevention #girlsontherun #imfine
