The oil cooler drew the short straw , sitting horizontally behind the radiator with nothing but a plastic shroud and fragile fins between it and every rock on the road. People have lost entire S55s to a single puncture.
CSF’s unit swaps in with OEM connections, denser core (32mm vs 28mm), and a replaceable rock guard. The 15% volume increase adds about half a quart of oil. I’m not chasing lower temps, I’m buying reliability. The goal is simple: don’t let a rock end my weekend.

Judging by this image, you'd think things aren't going well. You'd be wrong; this is just routine maintenance on an S55.
Oil cooler that sits behind the radiator with nothing but a plastic shroud protecting it from road debris. An oil pan gasket BMW has known about for three generations and still doesn't care. Wheel bolts designed by someone who actively hates you. And brakes that came drilled from the factory on a 500hp, 3,500lb car. I fixed all of it before the first test day.

We are down almost 4lbs in week one chat! Newbie loss for sure. Still dialing in diet and thanks for everyone that message and reached out.
