Breast Cancer Awareness Month | The Fight Continues! 🩷
Fast Facts:
- Breast cancer is 2nd most common cancer amongst American women
- Mammograms are the best way to screen and detect early cancer
- There is increased risk of breast cancer in women 50+, if you have family history of breast cancer and/or BRCA mutation
- Men also get breast cancer, though not as common (1/100 breast cancer diagnosed in US is found in a man)
Prevention:
- Per USPSTF women 40-74 yo should be screened with mammogram at least every 2 years
- Keep a healthy wait and stay physically active
- Consult with you doctor about risks of hormone replacement therapy or birth control
