on 15/02/25 my dreams came true much sooner than i expected, i got to watch green day live in MY country!!!! i shouldn’t cuss but HOLY FUCKING SHIT. you may be wondering, why post this 2 days late? well, on the 17th of february 1972, billie joe armstrong (aka the man singing in those videos) WAS BORN!!! happy 53rd birthday mr bj, you’re incredible and i love you.

i’ve only started liking green day about 2-3 years ago, but i love it like it’s been 23. i don’t even know exactly why this band means what it does to me now, but i know watching those 3 guys go crazy on stage, having them introduce me to punk and it’s culture… has truly changed me as a person. the more i listen to them, and the more i grow up; i’ve found myself relating to and finding comfort in their lyrics, i’ve learned the fun in trying to play their songs and i’ve learned to be more myself because of the subculture they based themself on. with this band by my side i think i can survive life just fine. even if they won’t read this, i want to express that my heart goes out to green day. thank you guys for never giving up, thank you for reaching to the stars, thank you for playing here, in jakarta. i’m lucky i get to exist in the same time as you. thank you for introducing me to the community that has helped me find myself as a person. thank you for reminding me that there’s nothing wrong with me, this is how i’m supposed to be.
of course thank you to my parents who fought their hardest to get me these tickets. makasih ya ibu and ayah, please know aku sayang banget and I’m forever grateful for this opportunity. and thank you ayah udah nonton sama aku, i hope you had the time of your life!
