من أجمل ما شاهدت اثناء زيارتي لولاية ظلكوت في سلطنة عمان هو روعة جوها الجبلي لدرجة ان تحس بقدرتك على لمس السحاب وانت على الأرض. صادفت هذا المشهد في ترحالي وانا لا ابعد اقل من بضع كيلومترات عن الحدود اليمنية. استوقفتني هذه الأمواج السحابية وهي تلامس المرج الأخضر.
I witnessed one of the most beautiful scenes during my visit to #Dhalkut, south of #Oman. Not far away from the Yemen’s borders, the view was stunning as you feel like you can touch the clouds while you are still on the ground!

على ارتفاع ألفَي متر، في الجبل الأخضر، جلستُ مع رجلٍ في الثمانين من عمره، عاش طيلة حياته في هذا الجبل. حدّثني كيف كانوا يمشون ثماني ساعات إلى نزوى ليبيعوا محاصيلهم، وثلاثة أيام إلى الرستاق، وأشهراً للوصول إلى دبي. كانت المسافات تُقاس بالخطى لا بالساعات.
اليوم، الطريق نفسه لا يستغرق أكثر من ساعة بالسيارة. ولا يزال يُدير مكاناً مميزاً يعمل على تقطير ورد الجبل الأخضر منذ أجيال.
حديثٌ لا يُنسى. 🌹
Some people carry whole centuries inside them.
2,000 meters up in Jabal Al Akhdar, I sat with a man in his 80s who has never left this mountain. He told me about walking eight hours to Nizwa to sell their crops. Three days to Ar Rustaq. Months to Dubai. A world measured in footsteps.
Today the same trip is an hour by car. He still runs a small place working with the roses these terraces are famous for — the same flowers his family has been turning into rose water for as long as anyone can remember.
Timeless and precious, that conversation. 🌹!
They told me you have to pick them before sunrise, while the petals still hold the cold.
Rose harvest in the Green Mountain — a few hours that smell like nothing else on earth.

لكن ما يجعل زيارة هذا الموسم مختلفة كانت أهل الجبل الأخضر، دفئ ترحيبهم، حكاياتهم وفخرهم بزراعة كل وردة.
زرت مزارع الورد في قرية الشريجة باستضافة اسطرلاب والي كانت تجربة مختلفة، مع تفاصيل التي سردها الأخد أنور الريامي في الرحلة، الطريق المؤدي للمزرعة والمحيط بالأفلاج، والتعرف عى عملية الحصاد والتقطير. رحلة مليئة بالمعلومات والمتعة ما شاء الله

Where the mountains meet the roses 🌹
There's something almost sacred about waking up in Al Jabal Al Akhdar during rose season. The air carries the scent before you even step out — and then you find yourself knee-deep in pink, surrounded by people who've been doing this for generations.
I visited the rose plantation in Al Shuraijah village hosted by @Astorlabe.om — and it was one of those experiences that quietly changes you. From the history of the village, to the winding path down to the farm, to learning every step of the harvest process — it was generous, rich, and deeply rooted.
The people of the village made it. Their warmth, their stories, their pride in every petal — that's what you take home with you, long after the scent fades.

موسم تزهير شجر المشمش في قرية وكان يحدث في شهر فبراير من كل عام. القرية في ولاية نخل وقريبة من الجبل الأخضر وتبعد حوالي ساعة ونصف تقريبا من العاصمة #مسقط. مكان رائع للترويح عن النفس والقيام بالهايك.

Apricot blossom season in Wakan Village takes place every February.
The village is close to Al Jabal Al Akhdar, and about an hour and a half from the capital, #Muscat.
A beautiful destination to unwind and enjoy hiking.

This was the darkest sky I ever witnessed. The pollution is close to 1.0 allowing the naked eye to see stars sooooo clearly.

By far, this was the clearest sky I witnessed in my life! I could see millions of stars with my bare eyes before! Such a stunning scene that can’t be missed when you visit Elephant Sands Lodge in Botswana. Far away from the light pollution of the city and busy life, where the rulers are the elephants, and we are merely their guests.. Before the sky was covered with the rainy season clouds, I stared for hours, witnessing the beauty of what the creator made. A scene you never get bored with... Honestly, that was the best thing in my visit.. apart from seeing the elephants up close, of course 😊
البارحة شهدت أجمل سماء في حياتى! المشهد كان مليئ بالنجوم بشكل لم أرى مثله في حياتي! في منطقة إليفينت ساندس وهي محمية للفيلة، يقع فندق بسيط مع اروع اطلالة على الفيلة بشكل قريب والسماء الصافية البعيدة عن التلوثات الضوئية للمدن مما يعطي الفرصة لمشاهدة ملايين النجوم والتكوينات النجمية التي لا نراها في حياتنا اليومية.
جلست لساعات أتأمل السماء قبل أن تغطيها سحب الموسم الماطر وتغلق الستار عن المشهد المهيب لعظمة الخالق.
