THANK YOU πŸ‘ THANK YOU πŸ‘ THANK YOU πŸ‘THANK YOU!!!!!!!! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ My heart is full! The Rockville Campus @imalive_org Mental Health Fair was a HUGE success!!!!!!! After 2 hours of dedicated setup, there was a period of unexpected rain- but this campus CAME TOGETHER and was RESILIENT!! People found tents, supported each other, volunteers and students SHOWED UP IN THE RAIN!!! There is a poetic justice in getting through a period of rain during a mental health fair that lead to BEAUTIFUL skies and sunshine for the remainder of the event!!! HUNDREDS OF STUDENTS PARTICIPATED!!!!!!!!! It was the most incredible afternoon dedicated to students supporting each other’s mental health. We had 402 students participate and complete the passport activity!!!!!! MC STUDENTS YOU ARE THE BEST!!!! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ WE HAD 80 VOLUNTEERS!!! πŸ’œπŸ™Œ This included students from Behavioral and Community Health, @mcrvstudentlife @mcsgarv @mcstudentwellness @mc_studentartleague @mc_raptors , and several students showed up wanting to help any way they could! Our @mc_raptors Student Athletes showed up in full force- EVERY single sports team volunteered AND attended! πŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ Incredible partnership! They helped PHYSICALLY set up the fair first thing in the morning, facilitate the stations, and participated fully with their teammates! My colleagues in @mc_counselingadvising were there the ENTIRE time- rain and shine- supporting students in every way! A huge thank you to the student interns of the Rockville MHF- @cai.howard_ and @leoborina , who worked tirelessly the entire semester to plan this special event- keeping it TRULY student focused. I’m so proud of both of you- your professionalism, dedication, creativity, and enthusiasm. 🫢🫢🫢🫢 The whole day was so very special. I love my job at @montgomerycollege so much and thank you to everyone who the event a success! Your mental health DOES matter πŸ«‚ I love you all so much and thank you from the bottom of my heart πŸ™πŸ«‚πŸ’œ

Another fun canvas done for Imalive Mental Health Fair! I only paint a small portion of the canvases used in these fairs, so what I post is just a small peek at this massive effort to spread the word to Colleges and Trade Schools across the U.S. If you're not having these important events at your school, please reach out to get one scheduled immediately. It's too important to ignore. Note: The lion is the school mascot, not something I designed. #art #youngmindsmatter #mentalhealth #youarenotalone

Back to doing some college/trade school mental health fair canvases! These fairs, held by my dear friends at Imalive Mental Health Fair, normalize talking about and caring for one's mental health, showing that seeking help is a sign of strength and a vital tool for navigating the unique challenges of early adulthood. Therapy and support are proactive steps that allow young adults to take control of their lives, build resilience, and thrive, rather than just managing crises. In my younger years, it was not discussed openly and people were embarrassed to share if they struggled. I'm happy to see that changing for the next generations πŸ₯° For new followers: Students attending the fair write positive messages all over the canvas and then it's displayed at the school for others to read and feel inspired. My part is only the first small step. Check out Imalive Mental Health Fair to see in full what these fairs offer. #youngmindsmatter #BrightFuture #arttherapy
