❄️DIY PLAY SNOW ❄️ 2 ingredients -2 minutes!
Looking for an EASY PLAY IDEA for the kids today to keep them off their screens for half an hour?!
L👀K no further!

This fake play snow is sooooo easy, feels realistic to touch and keeps its shape well when building with it!
.
Recipe:
Simply mix equal parts shaving cream and bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) using your hands until well combined
.
Add to a play tray with sparkles, glass gems, play trees and other Wintry loose parts
.
Leave them to play while you get on with something on your to-do list (or sneak away for a rest!)
.
This can be stored for another day’s play
.
Tip: try putting it in the fridge for a while to become even more realistic during play!

It’s blackberry picking season!

The biggest obstacle to our children’s play is often US overthinking it or thinking it needs to teach something or have a specific end purpose in mind
.
That’s NOT how play works
.
Children are experts at developing their OWN play and don’t need any ideas from us. But we can help them along by providing access and permission to use materials and resources freely or in a specific space reserved for them. That can definitely be outside (suits us all better when mess is easier to deal with too!)
.
We often don’t trust it will work or the process because we don’t see how it will develop or what they’ll do with it. Good news- we don’t have to figure that part out! That’s their job and they’ll be brilliant at it
.
So, I challenge you today to set your timer to 5 minutes, grab what you can find from the garden and give it a go!
