The seasons are shifting into spring. Here’s our a cappella song about stages of springtime. Performed last week at @theharmonycafebar . Lyrics: From winter’s dream the forest awakes Snow is heating, retreating, pulling its blanket from the lakes Behold the sunlight lingers longer each day, stirring rivers Turning, tossing, melting into spring From soil and seedling carving the rock Green is showing and growing skyward with sprouting stem and stalk Behold the treetop branches, and every clover in the meadow Reaching, rising, budding into spring On a rustling wind, grey clouds cry aloud with thunder All at once in the gathering grey, a mighty roar of thunder Bolts of bright light divide the sky, as Bolts illuminating the fall of Pitter patter, pitter patter, dripping down The rain comes spilling, puddles filling Rivers swelling, all fortelling Life restoring, pouring into spring From sky to ground bright colours arise Petals peeling, revealing blossoms of every shape and size Behold the flowers open, vivid rainbows, sweet aromas Lifting, drifting, blooming into spring Melting, budding, pouring, and blooming into spring Original song by Imaginary Expedition Music and lyrics by @glyphgreenleaf and @vocalsbyvictoriadobbs Performed live at The Harmony Café, Toronto, ON Wednesday March 11, 2026 Read more about this song on our Substack blog (link in bio)

First bike expedition of the season to a place we’re lucky we still get to enjoy 🥰 1. BFFs n PFDs 🦺⚓️ 2. Magnoia tree 🚴🪷 3. Ferry skyline 🧚🏼🌃 TFW your province is stealing city land to transform your favourite place on earth from inspiring ecosystem into a capitalist cashgrab. Hang in there, little islands… 🫂

Cherry blossoms found us in a seemingly secret spot behind some big exhibition buildings where we remember the coyote couple ran off to last fall while we stood at the base of the wind turbine.

Recent expeditions. Reference library date, volunteering at @apocryphonia , saving a stump from the beautiful backyard Manitoba Maple we still don’t understand why the landlord cut down, pair of snuggling dandelions, @glyphgreenleaf posing with dandelions (but the dandelions are out of frame oops), the rainbow couch where we sit and read books to each other, @vocalsbyvictoriadobbs distracted by @imaginaryexpekitten , hanging out in a tree by the ferry docks, cat having a snooze with her favourite blanket and toy. We will play at @grocerycoffee this Sunday May 17 at 1:30pm.

On the last weekends of the month, @spectraleyes hosts a Lunchtime Recital at @grocerycoffee ☕️ (in Toronto’s Parkdale neighbourhood), and has invited Imaginary Expedition to join the curated round of performers whenever we can. Here we are at April’s edition, where we performed alongside @spectraleyes , @jonathan_davies_music , and @jackmovestunes . We’ll likely be back for another Lunchtime Recital at the end of May (stay tuned for more details). May is starting for us with the @torontofolkfestival fundraiser at @hughsroomlive Friday May 1st. This is going to be an exciting night of 40 different Toronto folk acts. Highly recommended way to spend your evening. has more details.

Thanks to everyone who came out to @danusocialhouse on Saturday night. Thanks to @the.great.tick.eater for inviting us to warm up the stage for them, and to @dlyspcial and @yosher.yosherson for all the entertainment. It was an inspiring evening for us, and we spent much of the next day writing lyrics and new song ideas 💕 Next: we’re playing a song this Fri May 1 at @hughsroomlive as part of @torontofolkfestival ’s fundraiser variety show extravaganza, and you should definitely come through if you want to see a huge collection of talented local acts.
