As we come to the end of Aarshi’s inaugural chapter, we carry with us not just images but the echoes of conversations, encounters, and shared moments of looking.
What began as a simple idea—almost fragile in its beginnings—found its shape through all of you who showed up, listened, questioned, and stayed. To our friends, comrades, speakers, artists, and collaborators, thank you for opening your practices, for trusting this space, and for pushing us to think beyond the visible.
To everyone who joined us, your presence made Aarshi real. Each exchange, each pause after a screening, each quiet reflection helped build this collective mirror we dreamed of.
This is only a beginning. Aarshi will continue to grow, to return, to revisit.

You are warmly invited to the inaugural evening of Aarshi (আরশি).
The evening will begin with two back-to-back film screenings, followed by a conversation between photographer, filmmaker, and author Shan Bhattacharya and filmmaker, lecturer Anirban Datta on 15th March. Their dialogue will explore new possibilities of image-making across fiction, archive, stillness, and motion.
