As the election season heightens and both parties continue their fascist attacks and rhetoric towards migrants, it is clear the need for a migrants perspective and continued grassroots migrant organizing. With this IMA-USA has synthesized the demands of many grassroots migrants campaigns on the ground across the U.S. to develop the updated Grassroots Migrants Agenda.
The voices of migrants need to be amplified as we approach the 2024 U.S. elections and organize into 2025. By strengthening our demands and organizing, particularly with an international and anti-imperialist perspective, we will advance the struggles of migrants, refugees, and displaced people. Campaign with us, and join IMA-USA as we build the grassroots migrants movement against imperialism, fascism, and forced migration.
1. End Forced Migration & Imperialist War
2. End the Repression of Migrants
3. Rights to Livelihood, Health, Housing

Held right before the United Nations’ International Migration Review Forum (IMRF) in New York on May 5-8, the GMRF in New York stands as proof that migrants are not merely objects of global policy, but subjects of struggle capable of uniting, resisting, and advancing their own demands. The forum was filled with powerful testimonies from migrant leaders on the frontlines of the fight against labor exploitation, criminalization, racism, xenophobia, and the many forms of oppression perpetuated by the global imperialist system.
May the international solidarity that has been built continue to strengthen the unity and struggle of migrants in fighting for their rights, welfare, and human dignity. From the grassroots, we fight exploitation and oppression in all its forms. No borders in solidarity! Long live the struggle of migrants! Long live the unity of the oppressed peoples!
💐Mother’s Day Sharing!
On May 10th, 40+ migrants and community organizations met for a Mother’s Day “Talakayan” or sharing.
They spoke of the struggles of Filipino caregivers and the families of detained migrants, and learned about the growing global campaign “Free the Migrants!” Attendees resolved to unite, support one another, and defend the rights of migrants!
Defend migrant workers!

Hear from Pervez Siddiqqui, a Bangladeshi migrant advocate with Film4Peace, a foundation committed to ending human trafficking and modern slavery! He attended the May 3rd Migrant Workers Summit, held in Queens NY as part of a national week of action for migrants to make their voices heard as the UN holds its International Migration Review Forum (IMRF). Under the disguise of “safe, orderly, and regular migration,” this forum promotes policies that expand labor trafficking and the global recruitment of migrants into the lowest paying and most dangerous jobs, making huge profits for rich corporations.
We demand governments turn their focus to prosecuting the employers and recruitment agencies that steal workers wages and traffick migrants! Pervez asserts “we have a family, we are human beings, we are not a commodity.” He is fighting for the rights of Bangladeshi and all migrants to work anywhere in the world with dignity, respect, and safety. ❤️🔥GRASSROOTS MIGRANTS AND REFUGEES, FIGHT! 💥
IMA US mobilized and gathered over 150 migrant workers on May 3rd for a Grassroots Migrants and Refugee Forum! This happened right before the UN held its International Migration Review Forum (IMRF) that was a venue about migrants, without migrants. We held our own forum and heard powerful testimonies from migrant leaders who are waging fights in defense of migrants across the country, and came together to unite on key demands.
As grassroots migrants, we are resolved to FIGHT alongside one another for our collective rights, welfare, and dignity free from exploitation, oppression, and Trump's fascist attacks.
