This is my most recent small painting called "The Alchemyst", 2025. I've always found the study of plants and roots fascinating as they are the source of so much information and abundance. Medicine initially came from plants and we were knowledgeable about their uses and benefits. Over the years this knowledge has been lost and altered into synthetic medicine (modern medicine) that often makes us sick and has many side effects. Over the past few years I have been studying herbal medicine for my own health problems and have learned so much. I am a true believer of "alternative medicine" as I have seen considerable improvement in my own health thanks to the use of Chinese medicine and Ayurvedic medicine. There is a lot of information out there and I highly recommend a book called "Working the medicine" by Michele Lee. Time goes by so fast it’s lovely to look back at special moments in our lives. This memory is from 2018 @taidejamuseokeskus_sinkka where I participated in a group Show called “Alice in Wonderland” with a bunch of other wonderful artists. My first big Museum Show. The photos of the room were taken by photographer Pekka Elonmaa. All the rooms were painted in different colors, I thought it was the perfect theme for the Show and I had the wonderful opportunity of showcasing 15 of my original works from around 2015-2018. It was my biggest Museum Show at the time! The Museum is in the beautiful City of Kerava, in Finland, my birth country. I want my art to inflict feelings and awaken emotions. When emotions are provoked, those emotions will be followed by thoughts. Thoughts such as ; Why do I feel this way when I look at this painting? or ; What exactly is happening in this work of art that I want to understand but can't fully do so? Perhaps there is a hidden message that only the subconscious can decipher? Therefore...if this painting can inflict an emotion on you, be it of bewilderment, a feeling of sadness or being uncomfortable; then I think I have succeeded. "Conversations with his Majesty" is a piece that explores telepathic communications through humans and animals. I believe that communication exists on many more levels than we can comprehend or know about. There is nothing more profound than looking deep into the eyes of an animal and have them look back at us understanding the message. I wanted this piece to speak to that moment of magic when two Souls connect. Here are some of the prettiest exhibition spaces where I have exhibited over the past few years; @galleria_aarni , @spruillarts , @thebascom and @taidejamuseokeskus_sinkka (Museum of Contemporary Art in Oulu), Finland. One thing is to see you art on your Studio wall, and the other is to see it hung in a public place. The works take on a life of its own in another room and another setting. There's also I think a huge difference when you see the art up live in real life, seeing photos or videos online never does the work the same kind of justice. You get to see the thickness of the paint, brush stokes or no brush strokes and the vibrancy of the color up close. You get to feel the Artist. I know I’m a bit of a frame nutter but I wanted to share this new find! I am already planning a mini painting for this, it will be a part of the new Collection for November! The ornate scrollwork, shell motifs is Rococo style, originally mid 18th Century, France. This piece is likely a late 19th to early 20th Century reproduction early 1900’s.
