This week, Dillard University and the city of New Orleans had the pleasure of honoring the legacy of our very own Dr. S. Carver Davenport. Joined by family, friends, colleagues and students, Dr. Davenport was honored by receiving his very own honorary street sign, located just outside the gates of Dillard University. This is just one of the many well deserved honors for Dr. Davenport, congratulations on 50+ years of an incredible legacy!
This past Sunday, the illustrious Dillard University Concert Choir held their Spring Concert! The evening was filled with the powerful and talented voices of the DUCC and special guests.
This concert also marked an incredible milestone for the legendary Dr. S. Carver Davenport, as this year marks the 50th year of his leadership on the renowned Dillard University Concert Choir.
Congratulations to Dr. Davenport on such an outstanding achievement, and a job well done to all of the performers on this special night! 💙🤍
Last night was truly something special.
Sharing the stage with Dillard University and Crescent City Sound was an honor on its own, but celebrating Dr. Davenport’s 50 years of directing gave it even deeper meaning. Fifty years of shaping singers, building community, and creating a space where people can grow through music.
That spirit of collaboration is exactly what drives us.
NOLA Vox exists to create a home for singers in New Orleans to learn, grow, and connect through vocal harmony. And collaboration is at the center of that. Bringing voices together, across groups and backgrounds, to create something bigger than any one of us could on our own.
Last night was a perfect reflection of that.
Grateful to be part of a city and a community where voices come together like this.

The 2026 Dillard University Concert Choir Tour was a resounding success!
Under the leadership of Dr. S. Carver Davenport—celebrating 50 years of excellence—the Choir inspired audiences across Houston, Shreveport, Dallas, Memphis, and Atlanta.
Thanks to the incredible support of our alumni chapters and community, the tour raised over $35,000, making this experience possible. Special shoutout to the Atlanta Alumni Chapter for leading with $10K in contributions!
Beyond the stage, our students also connected with future Bleu Devils during a recruitment stop at West Lake High School.
We are grateful for the love shown throughout the tour and look forward to honoring Dr. Davenport during Reunion Weekend.

We were honored to welcome the Dillard University Concert Choir as they kicked off this special series at Cascade UMC while also closing out their tour with us. This moment was even more meaningful as we celebrated Dr. Davenport’s 50th year as Director of the Dillard University Concert Choir.
For half a century, his leadership, mentorship, and musical excellence have shaped generations of singers and uplifted audiences around the world. What a blessing to witness this legacy in action.
