Sunday. 10.05.2026. Workshop: RESOURCEFUL 01Make Making Great Again
Last Sunday morning 20+ people walked into The Commons with one instruction. Make something. With whatever was on the table. Bottle caps. Old fabric. Wire. Things that had already been decided against. No brief. No design school required. No idea of what it was going to become before it became it.
The workshop was led by @illustratorinator
A visual artist who drifts between whimsy and intention. She uses imaginary maps and house blueprints as canvases to excavate memory. Her work asks you to wander through the architecture of your past and find your own nostalgia waiting there. She walked into The Commons with a pile of found objects and turned fifteen strangers into makers.
Anti-design is not the absence of design. It is design without the brief. Without the outcome decided before the making begins. Found materials. Micro designs. Waste objects with a second life. This is what it looks like when the process is the point.
What came out of that room was not pretty in the conventional sense. It was better than that. It was honest. Made by hands that were not trying to be right. Just trying to make something.
From found materials to anti-gallery.
The Commons exists to be that fourth space. A room that connects people, sounds and stories without an agenda and without chasing what is trending. Come make with us.
