‘Wild thing’ tea set
A mix of several locally hand foraged clays (i.e. I dug them up around here, my very own self).
Handle is a piece of tree root found on a local beach, secured with copper wire. Cork lid is from some vintage fishing gear I bought at an estate sale. And a few green glass beads I’ve had laying around for just the right project.
You may have (or not) noticed I’ve been absent from the socials for a few months. I was burnt out and just needed a break. But with the coming spring, I too am ready to ‘spring’ back onto the scene.
You’ll see me more now. (I might even update my website one of these days. But don’t hold your breath)
🤣
@citypittmeadows art gallery has nailed it! It’s such an honour to be included in this show #recycledart of upcycled art. Amazing stuff and so many creative people I met today at the opening. Thank you to everyone at Pitt meadows art gallery

It’s December already - and the holiday markets have begun. Come find me (and a bunch of new ‘fancy dirt’)
First opportunity is Saturday the 6th at my studio… it’s a mess because I’ve been making lots and lots! But you’ll forgive that when you see all the new stuff…
I hope to see y’all soon!
I am a very flawed person. Unbalanced and with scars. But I have learned that I am very good at healing. As I lose one thing, I gain somewhere else to balance.
Something handmade is always off, even just a little. No human hand could ever be, or ever should be perfect. It’s our gift; impermanence, fragility, imperfection. My hand could never create perfection, as I am so imperfect. But I can strive for beauty. Or transcendance. Or reflection. Perhaps a tiny measure of wisdom. I am very good at scars. I could teach a class on how to scar beautifully.
Clay is a body, perfect as it is, In the earth, unformed, unclaimed. Outside forces comes to it, my imperfect hands alter, push and pull, attempting to create beauty where before there was merely perfection.
I wish my pottery to feel like clay, earth. To look like earth. To remind you that it was soft, that it is nothing but earth elevated out of the earth, for no good reason besides… that I wanted to do it. And you wanted to hold it.
