I had the honor of being a part of #ownthefloor project by @nikenyc along with two incredible dancers, @kaylamaria.g & @tamishaguy I’m grateful. I started dancing at 28, and I’m now 45 years young. When I started, an inner voice always whispered that it’s too late and that I’m not good enough (and it’s still there 😅). But being in NYC definitely helped me a lot as I battled my inner voice everyday. Look around! NYC is a giant stage full of talented performers. We dance on the street, in the subways, and in the middle of Times Square. No one will think you're crazy. That's the freedom of being a dancer in NYC. The city embraces each individual’s uniqueness and lets us express ourselves freely. So if you have been fighting with your inner voice like me, go out to the street and dance. Don’t be afraid to express yourself and do what you want. At the end of the day, you will make one person proud and happy. YOU. Crazy MJ here! 🙋‍♀️ There weren’t any official practice videos or full-view fancams, and RM wasn’t even performing… And I somehow said we’d just do 4 hours of rehearsal and then go out to film 😅 I had to guess so many parts. You can probably imagine the stress. I was like… 🤷‍♀️ What was I thinking ? I could only blame myself for being crazy. And to everyone who supported the idea and pushed through with me.
