CDB joined Southern Illinois University Edwardsville for the ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of the new Health Sciences Complex.
This 172,495-square-foot facility features simulation teaching and research laboratories, modern classrooms, administrative space, and collaborative areas designed to support future healthcare professionals.

Restoration efforts at the Rend Lake Resort facilities for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources are full speed ahead, and the progress is becoming more visible every day.
Major systems like mechanical, electrical, and plumbing have been roughed in, and finishing work is officially underway. Drywall, paint, and flooring are going in, marking a big milestone in bringing the resort back to life.
Twelve duplex cabins, including two new ADA-compliant units, are getting a full transformation! Upgraded event spaces, new laundry amenities, and a new playground, splash pad, and pool area will also be completed soon!
Important structural repairs, including fixes for water infiltration, have been completed where needed and are continuing to ensure the long-term durability of the facilities.
Construction is anticipated to wrap up later this year. In the meantime, check out the progress photos for a closer look!
CDB has completed demolition and site remediation to clear space for the City of Springfield’s high-speed railway project. This project included new building entrances, upgraded hVAC and electrical systems, and resurfaced parking areas!
Construction is moving forward on the new Library Learning Student Success Center at the University of Illinois Springfield, a three-story, 55,000 sq. ft. facility. This building will bring together library services, academic support, IT, student resources, and study areas.
Progress is already visible, with the grand staircase poured, elevator shaft completed, and structural steel going up!

The Railsplitter Rest Areas (northbound and southbound) project for the Illinois Department of Transportation is now 75% complete.
The southbound rest area storefront is going in and drywall is underway, while the northbound site is seeing great progress with curbing, brickwork, glazing, and exterior installation.
Once finished, these upgraded rest areas will offer modern amenities, new picnic and play spaces, and a better stop for all interstate travelers.
The Replacement of the Nettle Creek Aqueduct project has received a National Recognition Award in the 2026 Engineering Excellence Awards from the ACEC-Illinois.

The Replacement Power Plant project at the Elgin Mental Health Center was recently selected as a recipient of a Pride in Construction Award by the Construction Industry Service Corporation (CISCO).
CDB attended the awards ceremony alongside our project partners at Clark Construction Group during CISCO’s Annual Meeting. This project delivers a new, energy-efficient central heating and power facility to support the campus’ long-term needs.

CDB celebrated the groundbreaking of the Woonsok Kim College of Fine Arts Transformation Project at Illinois State University. This $87 million investment will require demolishing and renovating current campus structures and constructing new facilities, expanding academic and performance spaces at ISU.
CDB is currently managing 175 higher education projects across Illinois! These Infrastructure upgrades impact student success and make a big difference!
