Maybe the most important question you can ask yourself when trying to determine what kind of firefighter you are is this. On the day before a shift do you say “I get to go to work tomorrow” or “I have to go to work tomorrow”? Because those of you who can truly say they say, “get to” understand that being a firefighter is an honor. That striving to be the best should be a job requirement not an ideal you mock. If you say, “have to” then maybe you should review the reasons you are a firefighter. Is it for the 20 days off and benefit package? The public you swore to protect deserves more.” – Eric Guida, NorCal FOOLS 2002

Slow is smooth , Smooth is fast When you go slow, you’re able to be deliberate and make fewer mistakes. This smooth execution builds efficiency and rhythm. When you’re smooth, you’re fast - not because you’re rushing, but because you’re not fumbling or making mistakes. Build competency, not complacency. đŸŽ„ @alexjamesgolden

The fireground is dynamic, unpredictable, and unforgiving. Every second counts. Anticipating your next move isn’t optional — it’s critical. This job isn’t just about reacting. It’s about being proactive. We are in a constant battle with time. The longer we hesitate, the more dangerous the situation becomes. Our actions must be deliberate and intentional — not just for what we’re facing right now, but for what’s about to happen next. The ability to read fire conditions, anticipate progression, and predict change keeps you ahead of chaos. If you operate reactively, you’re at the mercy of the incident. If you operate with anticipation, you control it. #firefighterowned #ignitedecon

Being firefighter-owned is more than entrepreneurship—it’s a commitment to the job and the people who do it. It means using our experience, standards, and values to create products and services that actually support firefighters and first responders. Whether it’s equipment, training, or apparel, fire-service-owned businesses prioritize quality and reliability because we understand what’s at stake when things go sideways. Supporting firefighter-owned businesses keeps resources in the fire service family, strengthens our culture, and helps ensure we all have the best tools possible to do the job and go home. Thank you to every fire-owned business making life safer, easier, and better for our members—and for the communities we serve. #firefighterowned #ignitedecon

đ‘»đ’‰đ’†đ’”đ’† 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒅𝒂𝒚𝒔 Drinking coffee in the morning after being up all night. Laughing at the dinner table with you and your neighboring crews. Taking apart the saw at midnight to clean it after a good fire. One day it will all change. The senior guy will retire. Your buddy promotes. The probie you’re teaching starts teaching the probies. And you’ll look back and realize—those mornings, those calls, that kitchen table
that was it. Take the picture, make the joke, do the training,

What dreams are made of
Get off the rig ready to work. Separate your self from the spectators. Don’t be a bystander in turnouts.
