Big news! Poems of Parenting by Loryn Brantz is officially a New York Times instant bestseller - debuting at #6 on the Advice, How-To & Miscellaneous list! A must-have book for all parents, this illustrated collection of tender, funny, radically honest poems about parenthood, based on a series of popular Instagram posts, is the perfect baby shower or Mother’s Day gift. Modern parenthood can feel indescribable. This poignant collection of poetry and art chronicles the ups and downs of a rollercoaster ride that every parent will recognize. Capturing the joys and frustrations that come with each fleetingly precious (or interminable) stage of development, Poems of Parenting will be a balm to the soul of weary parents. From fresh baby snuggles to terrible tantrums, and everything in-between, artist Loryn Brantz has touched on something unique and universal in her debut poetry collection based on her popular Instagram series. Poems of Parenting is the perfect companion on any parent’s journey through the uncertain terrain of raising cherished children in extraordinary times. Loryn Brantz is an author, artist, poet, and director. She is the creator of two bestselling board book series, Feminist Baby and It Had to Be You (Love Poems Your Baby Can See) and is also a two-time Emmy Award winner for her work on Sesame Street. She is currently a consulting creative director for the beloved children’s education program Ms. Rachel. Her greatest desire is to make the world a better place through art, even if just a little—but hopefully, a lot. Loryn lives in New York City with her husband, architect Jake J. Brotter, and children, Dalia and Ronen. Loryn is represented by Ed Maxwell. Congratulations, Loryn!

Congratulations to all the winners at the @americanlibraryassociation Youth Media Awards; and most especially, congratulations to @jdebbiel and @jessicalanan , who each poured their mind, body and soul into a work of literature. I’ve shared much from each of them on this platform before, but the most personal thing I can share is that great art teaches you how to live better, live a more curious, generous, and patient life, and these two books will be inspiring me for as long as I’m hugging my kiddo and turning over rocks on this good earth. Big love to you both, @jdebbiel and @jessicalanan ; I am so proud of what you make!

New year, new agency, new sense of myself here on the internet. I’ve archived photos of Jo and my family in favor of representing my work here on instagram, but undoubtedly, my personal life will still peak through in posts. This one captures that balance well. I am very lucky to work with @jessicalanan , representing her stunning watercolor art and stories to book publishers. A thrill of that work has been learning that in watercolor illustration there are outtakes, which to the untrained eye are just as breathtaking as the final version. This image of pages 4 and 5 from The Fisherman and the Whale, Jess’s authorial debut @simonkids , hangs over Jo’s coat and bag hooks. It’s been wonderful to envision Jo’s sense of daily expedition and adventure growing beneath this painting.
