Join us for an intergenerational conversation with @ifyadenuga exploring her journey as an eldest daughter, mother, author, and woman navigating identity, leadership, and healing across different stages of life. This session will create space for honest reflection on the emotional realities many eldest daughters experience, from parentification and sacrifice to motherhood, ambition, and self-discovery.
Together, we’ll explore:
• The hidden responsibilities eldest daughters often carry
• Intergenerational expectations and family dynamics
• Balancing care for others with care for self
• Motherhood, womanhood, and identity
• Storytelling as a tool for healing and empowerment
This event is for eldest daughters, parentified daughters, daughters of immigrants, caregivers, creatives, and women seeking community, reflection, and meaningful conversation.
Whether you’re still navigating these experiences or beginning to unpack them later in life, this space is for you.
There will be a Q&A at the end; come with all your questions. To grab your ticket, head to the link in the bio.

I had a lovely chat with Ify Adenuga AKA, @skepta ‘s mum. ❤️⭐️
When Ify became a parent, she decided she would not raise her children the way she was raised.
Growing up during the Biafran War in Nigeria meant discipline and survival came first. But in her own home in London, she wanted something different.
So she chose conversation over control. The sitting room became a place to play, be loud and creative.
Later, she remembers driving her sons to recording studios across the city - waiting for hours in the car while they worked.
Those early sessions would shape two future artists: @skepta and JME.
To watch the full conversation search for ‘Lives Less Ordinary’ on the @bbcworldservice@youtube channel.
