Networked Lighting Controls (NLC) with Steven Mesh 📅 May 28 | 🕛 12:00–1:00 PM (Online) $20–$30 | CEU Credits Available The IES Vancouver Section is pleased to present an engaging online session on Networked Lighting Controls (NLC) led by renowned lighting designer and educator Steven Mesh. With decades of experience across North America and internationally, Steve brings a deep understanding of architectural lighting, energy codes, and advanced lighting control systems. His work spans hundreds of projects, and his teaching has influenced designers through institutions like Parsons School of Design and industry programs such as the California Advanced Lighting Controls Training Program (CALCTP). In this session, participants will gain insight into: The fundamentals and evolving landscape of networked lighting controls Best practices for implementation and integration Real-world applications and lessons learned from industry experience Self-reporting CEU credits are available for attendees. About the Speaker Steven Mesh is a long-standing member of the Illuminating Engineering Society, former IES Northeast Regional Vice President, and a contributor to lighting education and policy for over 25 years. He has delivered workshops globally, including at LightFair and Lux Pacifica in New Delhi, and is recognized with awards from IALD and IES/EPRI. Depending on audience interest, this session may be expanded into an in-person event in Vancouver. Lam, Professor of Psychiatry and BC Leadership Chair in Depression Research at UBC, for an engaging session on how light therapy can treat both seasonal and non-seasonal depression. "Light therapy is inexpensive, easy to access, and comes with few side effects," says Dr. Lam. "Patients can easily use it alongside antidepressants or psychotherapy."
