I enjoy exploring the intersection of sports, outdoors, lifestyle, and fashion. My work blends storytelling, visual branding, and user experience with a strong focus on manufacturability. Inspired by travel, tennis, and nature, I aim to create meaningful products that elevate everyday experiences and connect with users on a deeper level.
Outside of design, I enjoy travelling to new places, I've been to 10 new cities while in school.

I’m an Industrial Design student who enjoys working with my hands to turn design concepts into tangible, real-world products. After graduation, I’ll begin my career as a Structural Designer at Kiewit, continuing to develop practical, impactful design solutions.

Hi! I am Barrett McKee. I am a senior Industrial Design student at KU. I love to create and build things and am constantly using my design abilities to work on projects outside of school. After graduation I will be joining Dimensional Innovations as a Design Engineer to help get designs from the creative team to being manufactured on the shop floor.
My favorite kinds of projects are ones that allow me to design every detail about how it can be manufactured/created, not just how it looks on the outside.

The designer’s role has been described to me as “the glue” of a team, operating at the intersection of why and how and often the first to envision a fully realized solution. This is what I love to do. Each prompt is a puzzle; every value statement, a clue. I aim to balance feasibility, desirability, and viability to create products that meaningfully improve users’ lives.
My favorite memory at KU was late night movies and lacrosse games in studio.

As an Industrial Design student at the University of Kansas, I have had the opportunity to learn many topics all centered around creating a better product for the user. Gaining the necessary skills from the Industrial Design major has led me to want to focus on designing immersive and interactive spaces that both solve problems and make memorable, lasting experiences.
My favorite memory at KU was being able to go to the design lectures because it allowed me to hear about the personal journeys and see the work of professionals from all fields of design.

Hello! My name is Eleanor Ammerman, and the life-long dream of being an inventor drew me to Industrial Design - I am driven by a curiosity to discover and understand users’ most fundamental problems to develop user-centric, empathetic, & thoughtfully inventive solutions. In March of 2026, I began a new role as an Associate Product Strategy Designer at KC-based medical device design consultancy Engenious Design, where I will continue my curiosity and learning in my career after graduation!
Outside of design, I am passionate about playing groovy music, songwriting, and jamming to good tunes!
