Was a big honor to present the new feature film concept “Two Heavens” at the @juedischesfilmfestival_bb as part of “Talents - Perspectives” Pitch Panel, curated by Nir Ferber. Thank you for the selection and the possibility to share this new age myth.

ENG: What is “The Waiting Room” about? In the words of creator and director @idogotlib :
This is a “story of five people who awaken in an isolated room and are forced to exist together while screams, explosions, and signs of an undefined catastrophe are heard behind a locked door. The room becomes the only place of existence - no one can leave it without disappearing forever. Thus, the characters try to sustain their own being.

“The Waiting Room” is a story about why did this theater group even start to exist in the first place. “Neue Quelle” was shaped by the desire of a new source of beauty in the current state of uncertainty, madness and terror. This search, this essence will resonate in each following production, in each next room, and each experiment carried out by our collective.”

“Es erzählt von fünf Menschen, die in einem isolierten Raum erwachen und gezwungen sind, gemeinsam zu existieren, während hinter der verschlossenen Tür Schreie, Explosionen und Zeichen einer unbestimmten Katastrophe hörbar sind. Der Raum wird zum einzigen Ort der Existenz - niemand verlässt ihn, ohne für immer zu verschwinden. So versuchen die Figuren, ihre Daseins zu begreifen.

“Der Warteraum” spiegelt eine Reflektion, warum unsere Gruppe überhaupt existiert. “Neue Quelle” ist von dem Bedürfnis nach einer neuen Quelle der Schönheit in Zeiten der Unsicherheit und Zerrissenheit entstanden. Diese Suche, diese Essenz wird in jeder folgenden Inszenierung, in jedem weiteren Raum und in jedem Experiment von unserem Kollektiv nachhallen.”

Heute stellen wir Euch gleich zwei Künstler*innen unseres Dagesh-Studio on the Road #PurimEdition vor: Ido Gotlib @idogotlib inszeniert gemeinsam mit Deborah Mary Schneidermann @deborahmary.sdm eine Performance, auf die wir schon sehr gespannt sind! Die Performance wird in vier Tagen bei unserer Veranstaltung „Purim-Prisma zwischen Schein und Sein. Transformation und Enthüllung als künstlerische Praxis” in Dresden zu sehen sein. Ido Gotlib (1999 in Haifa, Israel, geboren) ist ein preisgekrönter Film- und Theaterregisseur. Derzeit ist er Student an der Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf. Seine unkonventionellen, genreübergreifenden Erzählweisen brachten ihm internationale Anerkennung und zahlreiche Auszeichnungen, wie „Octopus D’Or - Best International Film“ Strasbourg Film Festival. Er ist ein Berlinale Film School Summit 2026 Talent Program Alumni.
Deborah Mary Schneidermann (2003, Berlin) ist eine Schauspielerin für Theater und Film. Sie absolvierte ihr Studium am University College London. Bereits seit ihrer Kindheit steht sie vor der Kamera und wirkte u. a. in den Serien „SOKO Leipzig“, „Letzte Spur Berlin“ und „Tierärztin Dr. Mertens“ sowie in Kinofilmen, u.a. „Bibi & Tina: Voll verhext!“ mit. 2024–2025 war sie in London in den Produktionen The Best Man und After Life (Tower Theatre Company) auf der Bühne zu sehen. Sie lebt in Berlin und arbeitet international.
Die Veranstaltung ist Teil der bundesweiten Reihe Dagesh-Studio on the Road, die zeitgenössische jüdische Positionen in der Gegenwartskunst sichtbar macht.

Rozmowa odbyła się w ramach Dyskusyjnego Klubu Filmowego w sali kinowej Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Krakowie, tuż po projekcji trzech nagrodzonych filmów.
Ido opowiedział o kulisach powstawania swojego filmu – o inspiracjach, świecie mody, przygotowaniach i castingu, a także o tym, jak udało mu się sfinansować produkcję.
