Auralith — Where the air and the earth shape the future of living through technology.
Designed by Ergin Birinci Studio and etcetera, Auralith explores how homes can become more resilient and connected to nature as global climates transform. It merges the calming intelligence of natural elements such as wind, shade and earth with the precision of digital fabrication and autonomous technologies.
The house is designed with five zones arranged around a circular living core, all interwoven by a sequence of courtyards. These oases regulate temperature, guide movement, and enrich daily life with light, greenery, and microclimates.
Environmental responsiveness is built into every layer. Adaptive screens respond to the sun and the wind. The roof collects moisture to irrigate green spaces. And renewable systems help the house operate independently. Comfort comes from a dynamic, automated process that works with nature.
Auralith is constructed with robotic 3D printing using locally available materials, reducing transport, embodied carbon, and labour intensity. This modular digital workflow would allow homes to be built quickly, precisely, and sustainably in challenging contexts around the world.
Together, Ergin Birinci Studio, Etcetera, and their collaborators present Auralith as more than a single prototype. Auralith is a global blueprint for future homes: sustainable, autonomous, and deeply rooted in the intelligence of natural materials and the future of construction.
