ICSD President Ádám Kósa met with Lisa Allan, Secretary-General of the International Judo Federation (IJF), to discuss the inclusion of judo in Deaf sport at the highest international level.
Our shared goal: to organize judo competitions at the Athens 2029 Deaflympics fully in line with IJF standards, regulations, and expectations — giving Deaf athletes the platform they deserve.

U23 World Deaf Football Championships 2026
The U23 World Deaf Football Championships 2026 will bring together national deaf football teams from around the world in Serbia for an international competition promoting inclusion, sportsmanship, and unity through sport. The championship will take place from 11–23 May 2026 and will feature talented young athletes competing at the highest level of deaf football.

Today, March 30, 2026, ICSD officially opens its new world headquarters in Budapest, Hungary a defining moment in our journey to grow the Deaflympics and secure equal recognition alongside the Olympics and Paralympics.
Following the decision of ICSD NDSF members at the Tokyo Congress 2025, Budapest is now the global home of Deaf sport.
We were honored to welcome:
Zsolt Nyitrai — Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister
Dr. Ádám Schmidt — State Secretary for Sport, Ministry of Defense
Balázs Fürjes — Member of the IOC & State Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office

The ceremony was moderated by Dr. Gergely Tapolczai, President of the Hungarian Sports Association for the Deaf and Member of Parliament.
The ribbon was cut by our distinguished guests — with Deaflympics medalists Tamara Boros, Anett Kiss, Nikolett Gál and Katrin Neudolt proudly carrying and presenting the scissors. Athletes at the heart of this moment, as always.

We are looking for passionate, qualified, and dedicated individuals to join one of our seven Commissions — including the Anti-Doping, Audiology, Legal, Women in Sport, Tribunal, Finance, and Therapeutic Use Exemption Commission.
