Prva gošća serijala ____ is playing in my shop bila je Ivana Babić, poznatija kao UBICA (@icketa ) DJ-ica čiji setovi istovremeno deluju kao alternativni filmski soundtrack, satkan od eksperimentalnih, ambijentalnih i neuhvatljivih zvukova. U saradnji Oblakodera i Manonije, uz tehničku podršku kolektiva SUTRA, pokrenut je novi serijal ____ is playing in my shop — zamišljen kao intimni susret muzike, prostora i razgovora. 🪩 U ambijentu Manonije, između polica i komada odeće, UBICA je izvela jednočasovni miks koji je poslužio kao uvod u razgovor o tremi, žanrovima koji se opiru imenovanju, filmovima koji oblikuju njenu selekciju i radosti deljenja muzike sa drugima.

Wednesday 19h Sprat JOSS TURNBULL performing TURMOIL Berlin-based percussionist Joss Turnbull, is known for his creative take on middle eastern hand drums. Introduced to Iranian percussion by Mohammed Mortazavi, the Iranian goblet drum Tombak is the center piece of his artistic work. Using unorthodox instrumental extensions such as rubber balls, tremolo sticks, foils, and live sampling, he creates acoustic spaces that appear both minimalist and overwhelming. His music is marked by tension and a strong-willed idiosyncrasy that compels both the listener and himself to surrender to the unpredictability of the moment. *** Using live sampling and electronic effects on his electrified goblet drum Tombak Turnbull stretches and destabilizes rhythms until they dissolve between restraint and rupture. Layers of knocking scraping and hissing tones unfold into fragile yet forceful soundscapes. His voice appears as a percussive and emotional extension of the drum shaping atmospheres of disorientation intimacy and tension. As one reviewer noted: “His radicalism really impresses me. It’s an absolute rarity. Joss Turnbull hits and scratches all kinds of percussion instruments while manipulating his electronic tools in ways that completely blow your mind. ” (Radiohörer, 2025) Turmoil is both personal and universal — a raw immersive performance that challenges conventions and explores a sound that is unpredictable, honest, and deeply engaging.

THIS WEDNESDAY we continue the new live performance series at @spratbar ! JOSS TURNBULL is a percussionist in the widest sense of that word, using rhythmic dynamics to invoke a sense of vertigo and vibrating vastness. The traditional Persian drum tombak is electrified and serves as the leading voice of a percussive symphony meant to shape a constantly growing and decaying tension through an immersive use of modern tools like live sampling as well as through intuitive primality of movements like scratching and hitting. In Sprat, Turnbull will present his latest material, published as the "Turmoil" LP earlier this year on Austrian label Boomslang Records. ON the opening duties, the not-so-mysterious Power Ambient Power Couple will be presenting their specific understanding of what kind of music should be played loud. Wednesday 17. Prije nego što od 22 krene novo izdanje Balkan Revelrya za @blackteethrecordsandradio baš mi je drago podijeliti prošlo izdanje, courtesy of @icketa UBICIN sam fan već neko vrijeme te su njeni setovi neki od najboljih koje sam čuo na bespućima Soundclouda te mi iz tog razloga dosta znači ovo gostovanje! Za vas koji ne znate riječ je o DJki i promotorki iz Srbije koja je članica kolektiva @sutra.club te je organizatorica Mostly Joking partija usmjerenih na eksperimentalnu glazbu. Miks koji mi je spremila bi najbolje opisao kao u suštini selekciju izrvrnuto ambientalne glazbe koja te jako uvuče dok ju slušaš iliti atmosfera samog seta je fenomenalna.
