On March 20th, ICFO hosted the 5th edition of the Quantum Careers Symposium at La Pedrera, bringing together students, researchers and professionals to explore opportunities in quantum science and technology.
From inspiring talks to engaging panels across academia and industry, and a vibrant networking session, participants gained valuable insights into the #QuantumTech landscape and future career paths.

🔙 The 11th Edition of ICFO's Young Photonics Congress!
High school students experienced a scientific congress environment, where they shared their work, exchanged ideas, and engaged with #ICFOnians.
This year, 2️⃣ distinctions were introduced to recognise outstanding student contributions:
🏆 The YPC 2026 Best Poster Award was granted to Lucía Escobar Arco (Institut Ramon Berenguer IV).
👏 The YPC 2026 People’s Choice Award, based on audience votes, was presented to Nicolás Elias Alonso (La Ginesta School).

📝 ICFO researchers, Dr. Karuppasamy Pandian Soundarapandian, Dr. Sebastián Castilla, and Dr. Simone Marconi, led by ICREA Prof. Frank Koppens, have now presented a promising solution in Nature Communications, demonstrating, for the first time, a sub-THz graphene receiver.
