Today we do not use metaphors anymore. Today, we give power to every word and we embody it.
Join me today at one of my favourite places in Amsterdam @ruigoord for @re_naturefestival for my new participatory ritual: “Turab: Return to the Earth.” 🌕
We are stepping barefoot into the living archive of the soil. This is not a passive performance it is a physical act of transformation. The ground beneath us holds the memories of everything that came before, it is our ultimate birthplace and our final rest.
Together under this powerful full moon, we will drop into our bodies. We will literally shed the physical layers of our past selves. We will mix our intimate dust (skin) that carries our DNA with dark soil and seeds, planting our rawest intentions into the ground. To close, we will purify ourselves through Tayammum, the ancient Islamic Sufi practice of dry cleansing with the earth itself.
Come get your hands dirty. If you are ready to leave heavy layers behind, give yourself back to the mother, and step into the new season in your absolute power, meet me in the dirt.

Saboona (صابونة) consisting of @ibn.backbone@karam.abdulrahman_@its.redha is a fresh sonic experiment blending underground textures from Brazil to the Middle East. Driven by live instrumentation, the project fuses raw rhythm, street culture, and youthful energy into a borderless sound. Rooted in authenticity and movement, Saboona captures the pulse of diverse scenes while carving out something entirely its own.
I am grateful to have assisted and worked closely with Joshua Serafin (@joshudoser ) on their first institutional exhibition in the ancient city of Córdoba, in a wonderful spaceship like museum.
A place deeply meaningful to me, where my ancestors once journeyed from Damascus to help shape the legacy of Al-Andalus.
Thank you, Joshua, for your trust, to Fran (@franestepag ) for the unwavering support, and to the wonderful team at C3A Centro de Creación Contemporánea de Andalucía (@c3a_andalucia )
It was truly a gift to witness and understand your creative process forever grateful.
In this hot time where its all about the celebration of the fun moments, the travels, the highlights of this year (THE PLEASURES OF LIFE) this work is a pause and a moment to reflect and to remember.
You too shall die my friend.
It is a reminder that everything living will one day return to the earth.
We often forget this cycle. We live as if we are permanent, as if life will never slow down. But we are mortal, and the earth will receive us all.
This work is not meant to shock, but to remember. To soften our attachment to permanence. To honor the quiet process that turns endings into beginnings.
Grateful for the chance to share this process.

reality is hunting me
