Join us this week as we close out Future Legends and celebrate the final days of our inaugural Black Futures Month exhibition presented by Black Interactive.
This Friday is our Closing Ceremony, an evening of reflection, celebration, and community as we honor the artists and voices who shaped this exhibition. The night will feature a keynote by Junglepussy, remarks by idris brewster, a panel moderated by Ryan Clarke with special guests, live sounds by STEMLINES, and a DJ set by Tofu Jack.
Expect powerful conversation, music, and a space filled with creativity, vision, and connection.
The exhibition is open to the public through the end of the month. If you plan to attend Friday’s closing program, please register in advance.

Our inaugural KIN: A Festival of Memory and Imagination has been one of the most fulfilling and rewarding experiences of my life. Early in the summer, our team set out to create a safe space that invited people to slow down and pay attention to what truly matters: engaging critically with our ancestors, experiencing the wisdom our communities have to offer in all different forms, and collectively imagining new possibilities. During this moment filled with increasingly violent oppression, erasure, and white supremacy, I wanted to create a space that gave folks the strength to keep going. It was my first time putting together an entire exhibition and the community that we brought together for this really showed out. Over 50 people worked collectively to make this a reality; KIN wouldn’t have been possible without all the beautiful folks putting everything into it. From the installations and workshops to the performances and conversations, this was a truly healing journey that i will be sitting with for awhile. These systems and platforms we are on aren’t built for us (especially this one we’re on right now). Let’s build spaces and digital technology for us and nothing else. I’m super excited for @kinfolktech ’s future and I hope yall will join us!

This is the last week to see @kinfolktech installation at the MoMA for the New York, New Publics exhibition!! The exhibition ends this Saturday, July 29th.
I am humbled that Kinfolk was included amongst so many other great artists and designers. Creating one of the first Augmented Reality experiences at the MoMA has been a surreal journey ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾. I could not be more grateful for my team, family, and friends who have supported me on this journey. I am super excited for what the future has in store for us. I had to say goodbye to my best friend Raja yesterday. He had an amazing 16 years of life, love, friends and memories. I am so lucky to have been blessed by the presence of such a gentle soul. He touched so many lives, and for that I am thankful. I still can't believe he's gone, but I am happier
knowing that he is in peace.
