🌟 Exciting Update! Mesa Police Department @mesaazpd has once again reaffirmed its commitment to inclusivity by renewing its Certified Autism Center™ certification for the second time since its initial designation in 2020. 🚓 To renew its certification, at least 80% of community-facing staff at the department completed autism-specific training to equip them with up-to-date knowledge, skills, and best practices for assisting and interacting with autistic or sensory-sensitive community members. 👮‍♂️ Mesa PD’s certification renewal also contributes to Mesa’s designation as an Autism Certified City™ (ACC). This designation helps ensure that both residents and visitors have access to a wide range of organizations trained and certified to better welcome and support autistic and sensory-sensitive individuals across healthcare, public safety, education, hospitality, entertainment, and recreation sectors. 🌍 🔗 Click the link in our bio to learn more about Mesa PD’s accessibility initiatives. #MesaPoliceDepartment #IBCCES #CertifiedAutismCenter #AutismCertifiedCity #MesaPD #MesaAZ #Arizona
