It’s so rare to have video from the Dead Rabbit! It’s short but it’s a good example of how I like to use displacement to break up rhythm but keep the pulse and flow in Irish accompaniment. These are some of my favorite players and people to play with. Cillian, Alan and Alastair. When the playing is this strong you can do a lot with the bass without getting in the way at all.
Last time in this little Brooklyn dream. Thanks to Sarah who made so many things possible with this Park Slope garret. Lots of memories. Back to Japan after a remarkable tour.
New Orleans. I lived there from ‘91-‘99. I learned most of what I know about music in that short time. I went there with nothing. I left with everything I needed to be a professional musician. Nothing is left that I experienced in the ‘90’s. As it should be I suppose.
Carnegie Hall has two personalities. There’s the Carnegie Hall BEFORE you play and the Carnegie Hall AFTER you play. Regardless it is a remarkable room with dignity and grace. It’s my fourth time playing there and this was the most comfortable.
