The day has come for my big announcement! Today marks the evolution of Slater Team, and we have created Trove, a venture I embark upon along with partner, Michael Koeneke @mikekoeneke . Remaining aligned with Compass, we have transcended the brand to embody a greater collective vision. Anticipate unprecedented growth and an enriched experience in the months and years ahead, enabling you—the client—to unlock, and kindly pardon my early enthusiasm for branding, a Trove of values, knowledge, connection, and properties. I invite you to follow us along for the ride @trovepartners !
A first look at @theelodieuppereast .
An intimate collection of residences on the Upper East Side, set within a reimagined carriage house. Thoughtfully designed, private, and quietly refined.
Launching soon.
Because I no longer truly understand how Instagram works, here is a Q1 “collection:” lots of houses and apartments, fun new projects, the best new puppy, the greatest friends, some terrific travel to weddings and birthdays, and many many miles of Ironman training!
This weekend on NBC’s #OpenHouseTV: Join @ianslater for a tour of the penthouse located at 145 East 76th Street. Perched high above the Upper East Side, this thoughtfully renovated home has been designed with a keen eye around light, color, and sweeping New York city views. 🌆
The apartment opens directly from a private elevator into a sunlit dining room where large windows frame the skyline and lead out to a wraparound terrace. Nearby, a beautifully detailed kitchen boasts slab marble counters, custom cabinetry, and chef caliber appliances that have been positioned beside a window that looks out across the neighborhood rooftops.
The corner living room is as refined as it is inviting, with two-tone blue lacquer gallery walls that create a striking setting for art and two separate seating areas that have been arranged to make the most of the natural light pouring in. Three doors lead out into the remarkable terrace that encircles the residence and allows fresh air to flow throughout.
And right down a Venetian plaster gallery hall? The guest bedroom offers a richly layered palette of blues, includinh patterned wallpaper, coordinated fabrics, and a Moroccan-inspired light fixture that casts a soft glow acrossz the space.
Tune in for the full tour! #uppereastside #hometour
Manhattan apartment number five is no longer an apartment! Officially have entered my townhouse era. I think I will name her “The Cottage.” 😉
Swipe for first real estate purchase 10 years ago in Rhode Island. Stella has yet to settle in anywhere; who can blame her?
Yesterday, my incredible maternal grandmother passed away at the age of 100 (!). All who know me know how much of a force Florence was and will remain in my life.
This is one of my favorite photographs of her, from when she officiated our wedding. My grandma was my original tie to New York, having been born in Brooklyn in 1925. She lived through an epic amount of historic moments and was a big reason I moved here in the first place. Since moving here, I always had a meal with her every month, give or take.
When I came out, she took it upon herself to drive into the city repeatedly to take me to see shows about my “gay history” as she called it… Torch Song, the Inheritance, Boys in the Band. Even with our immense generational gap she knew how important this was for me- and she made it clear when I got married she wanted to be the one to seal it. She didn’t flinch at all, except when I told her we wanted to do it at the Bowery- an area she felt was “dangerous.” I guess she did miss some things that evolved over history.
She was hysterical, thoughtful, feisty, smart, cool, sophisticated, well traveled, well read, and well fed. I think it was a hundred years perfectly lived.
Summer 2025, it’s been fun. Some amazing Bellport weekends, Grandma’s 100th birthday, learning (failing) kiteboarding, gorgeous weddings, Greece, and many workouts! Fall can’t come soon enough, my favorite season in NYC and September means time to work!
