🌑🌑🌑 Winter
The winter sunlight hits different. It’s been a season of rest, loss, tinkering, and little shredding of the gnar.
Bitter cold, but pretty sunny. We’ve been taking chilly walks, watching boots sunbathe in whatever room catches the best light.
Started the season taking part in a dear friend’s natural burial. There wasn’t a good reason for the gathering, but it was the most beautiful ceremony I’ve ever been part of.
Still cooking things up for Duolingo with most talented team, bippin and boppin from office to office. John and I have been getting together almost weekly, trying to piece together decades of recording scraps into our third Dog & Panther record. Cole’s been leading transforming the barn into a functional studio/gallery/garden, and when the mood hits, I’ve been working on some pieces for series I hope to show.
Also snuck out to Boho for a week. Woke up to ten inches of fresh pow pow. Winter, it’s not that bad!

Unseen wedding photos 😭❤️ While re-organizing the basement, we discovered 4 rolls of film taken by @austinroberthermann . Today is our 13th wedding anniversary and this feels like the luckiest gift 🍀❤️🎞️
Looking at these photos stirs up so many big deep feelings. Truly a boy and a girl deeply in love.
The last frame of the roll being a photo of our first house, tells a beautiful story.
If I had to guess, Austin was probably just burning the frame to finish the roll lol but it feels very significant to me. Our wedding day was so beautiful and special, but every home, chapter and day after that day has been the real love story.
There are so many ways in life that time feels horribly cruel, but in this way, the time we spent together feels like the most sacred gift I’ve ever been given.
Happy 13th Ian, You are my soulmate yesterday, today, tomorrow and forever.
