didn’t actually mean to take an entire yr off releasing from @scuffedrecs but we’re back and straight into turbo mode w/ a 2 tracker from bonafide label allstar @theorist up first. i got some bonus baseball cards made as a memento cos he kept flaking on us to go to practice if u want something tangible and got a tasty b3b with him + @dj.lutsu (+ @mctysk ) waiting for the final edit 📹

Pull up, pull up… a couple of stools for Last Orders as we chat with the Scuffed Recordings lads. Proper chinwag material from two heads who’ve been holding it down for like-minded heads since 2017. From their Rinse FM residencies to their No Edits sessions, they’ve built a label that’s as much about the people as it is about the tunes. Freaky but functional, they say the sweet spot between the smoking area and the main room. Now they’re teaming up with the grounded lot this Saturday in our own basement booth, and let’s just say… things are gonna get gloriously off-kilter.
Expect a cocktail of sounds, even a Long Island Iced Tea or a party if you will, one part pub club, two parts community spirit, topped off with a wedge of proper low-end business. No gimmicks here, just a label that knows how to make you move while keeping it weird. Call it the Scuffed special, functional but full of flavour.

when i was in year 5 my primary school did a commemorative teatowel for my entire year group where we had to draw our faces. being the only black kid in the class, i obviously coloured my face in. nobody thought to warn me that this would just be a blob of green ink on the towel (school colours s/o wicor primary) so among a sea of normal faces there was a pic of a green potato with the name “ian” underneath it. the towel has been lost in the sea of time but ive held this grudge for decades and when we were brainstorming merch ideas over a pint before xmas i realised i had a chance to redeem myself and the @scuffedrecs “class of” teatowel was born. big up all the crew that got involved, it turns out a lot of musical artists also have really good drawing skills (not me, i had to take 3 attempts to draw mine in the booth at @noeditslondon ). these are up on our bandcamp if you wanna cop one for your kitchen?
haven’t released any music this year so we should prob get a move on with that tbf.
