As part of our mission to preserve the history and heritage of the region, Maine MILL is also home to the October 25, 2023 Memorial and Archive.
This growing archive honors the lives impacted by the tragedy through objects, artwork, photographs, written reflections, and community contributions that speak to grief, resilience, and remembrance. It exists not only as a record of what happened, but as a space for collective memory and healing.
As we prepare to open our new museum space, we remain deeply committed to preserving the full story of this community, its history, its people, and the moments that continue to shape it.

I haven’t posted many images of this suspended billiard ball installation at @maine_mill (Probably because it’s a bit outshined by the raw power of bowing ball piece). I still love it and appreciate the technical challenge behind designing/building it.
Don’t miss your chance to see my memorial installation “Familiar Faces” in Lewiston, which I was commissioned to create for the 2-year anniversary of the tragic mass shooting that happened on October 25, 2023.
You have until the end of May to see the exhibition.
The billiard balls used in this piece were donated by the Schemengee’s Bar and Grille, one of the two locations where the shooting took place.
This installation was made possible through funding from the Maine MILL and the Maine Arts Commission Fellowship grant (@artsinmaine )

Last batch of photos taken by @myriambabinphotography for her artist studio series. It’s such a treasure to have a specific moment in time so thoroughly documented.

Hopefully the creative energy captured here can brighten your day ever so slightly in these dark times 🕯️
Then go call/write your senator if you’re outraged about ICE, DHS, and this administration. Urge them to defund ICE 🔥🧊🔥

“The Invisible Dog Goes for a Walk” group show @hashimotocontemporary
I wish I had taken more pictures during the opening, but I was too busy reconnecting with old friends.
There are so many beautiful pieces that I failed to document. You’ll just have to go see it for yourself.
Show runs through Feb. 7
Special thank you to @theinvisibledog and @risar for putting the show together and stewarding this wonderful community for so many years
“Familiar Faces” is a commemorative installation that I created last year for the @maine_mill museum on the two-year anniversary of the tragic October 25, 2023 Lewiston shooting.
For the piece, I was asked to use bowling balls that were abandoned at the bowling alley where the shooting happen by people who were there that night.
It’s an emotionally complex work, and is intentionally both haunting and strikingly beautiful. Because these objects witnessed the tragedy, they have undeniable weight and presence. As a result, the memorial resonates best when viewed in person.
It’s up through April.
I encourage you to go see it.
DM me if you plan to go and want to meet me there.

Hey NYC folks! I’ll be down in the city for the opening reception of this group show at @hashimotocontemporary .
“The Invisible Dog Goes For a Walk” is a show featuring the artists and collection of the Invisible Dog co-curated by Lucien Zayan (@theinvisibledog )and Risa Shoup (@risar )
The ID holds a special place in my heart. It was my studio, my workplace, my “art school”, my family, my home. The countless ways that community embraced me early in my art career were pivotal for my development - I’m not sure who I’d be without those formative experiences.
Ten years ago I left NYC and moved to Maine to start my next chapter. The hardest part of this transition was leaving behind this cherished and supportive community.
In the years since, the ID has undergone some changes of its own. Now without a permanent location to call home, the organization has embarked on a new chapter.
This group show is a reunion of sorts.
It’s a homecoming for me.
I’ll be at the opening on Saturday Jan 17. Come out and see the show if you’re in the area.
