As of Saturday India recorded 3.40 lakh new COVID-19 cases w/ 2,760 deaths. Prayers go out to the speedy recovery for India, those who’ve lost their lives ones, & to all the less privileged countries out there who can’t afford vaccines or are last in line to receive their shipment of vaccines.
I live in a country of privilege where my family and I have gotten our vaccinations quicker than I thought would be possible.
Where every person has the luxury to get VACCINATED for FREE and yet miss out on their second dose or flat out refuse it. That ladies and gentlemen is what we call privilege.

I polished and finished this piece from my archives for today. Backstory of this piece:
I was sitting in a dance studio about 2 years back watching the experienced dancers teach the younger kids. I did a quick sketch completely forgetting I had done it until a couple days ago.
This one particular dancer was so graceful and elegant when she moved it was hypnotising. You could see the kid she was teaching just get excited seeing her dance. It’s as if she saw a glimpse of her future and couldn’t wait to be her.
I loved how one could inspire another so much that it gives purpose and motivation. I tried capturing it as quickly as my fingers could sketch. This is why I love people watching, I look for those moments in between moments, that’s where the real magic lies.

I am Punjabi, I grew up in Lahore, Punjab and like most Punjabi’s I’m a proud Punjabi. We’re a people know for our hard working, resilient nature, and as the agricultural backbone of our country amongst many other things.
Tho I’m across the border in Pakistan’s half of Punjab, my counterparts on the other side of the border in India’s half also the agricultural backbone of their nation. But for the last few months India’s farmers face a threat caused by their own Govt. under the pretense of globalizing India & “helping it’s farmers” allowing bigger corporations to come in and operate in an unregulated market, basically giving farmers few options to fight bad deals with less oversight.
A nation wide food marketing system was set up called “Mundis” to ensure fair prices and protect farmers from exactly this scenario. It was designed to keeping in mind that farmers can be exploited in numerous ways. And with millions of farmers already have trouble making ends meet which led to debt causing suicide rates to go up amongst farmers.
June 3, 2020 India’s Govt. announced 3 Farming Legislations, ea. deregulating diff. parts of the market.
1. Creating Unregulated trade spaces outside the markets overriding whole sale market rules.
2. Framework for contract farming deals between corporations and farmers with little oversight leading to few options to fight bad deals which will fragment the market.
3. Eliminates storage limits preset by the Govt. to regulate & control prices.
In a country of 1.4 billion people where agriculture makes up half of the population The Govt. refused negotiations to retract these 3 legislations. So farmers from allover India (Punjab, Bihar, Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu etc) marched to Delhi to PEACEFULLY protest these legislations and were confronted with police brutality, barricades, tear gas, water canons. These protests are happening everywhere else in the world for those who can not join their brothers and sisters back home (USA, Canada, etc)
This needs to change so spread awareness. Share this, educate yourself and others.

He wanted the same influence that he puts in his music to reflect in the cover of the album. A sweet nostalgic reminder of home.
Set with the backdrop of "The Golden Hour" in photography/film terms. The beginning of a new day a better day, or the end of the day after a hard days work. These are the two times where it seems the world has stopped spinning for a few moments and you can feel the cool breeze brush against your skin. Alas a moment of peace.
