I stepped into the spirit of Ann Lowe — a master fashion designer whose name should be spoken as loudly as the women she dressed.

Ann Lowe was the first African American fashion designer to dress high-society America. She designed gowns for some of the most powerful women of the 20th century, including First Ladies, socialites, and debutantes — most notably Jacqueline Kennedy’s wedding gown in 1953.
.
Despite her brilliance, Ann Lowe was often uncredited, underpaid, and excluded from the fashion institutions she helped define. She built couture gowns by hand, mastered intricate floral appliqué, and ran a luxury fashion house at a time when Black women were never meant to have access — let alone ownership.

In this video, I’m shown sewing on a vintage Singer machine, humming “Change Is Gonna Come” by Sam Cooke — because her story is the sound of resilience, faith, and quiet revolution.

This is more than fashion.
This is Black history.
This is legacy.
This is honoring the women who stitched their genius into history — even when history tried to erase them.

Dear Farahd, my big brother...now in heaven 🥺💔 This is by far thee toughest, most painful message I've ever written and a fear that we never imagined would come true Farahd you were an amazing father to Fallyn, amazing brother to us, amazing son to mama, amazing uncle to EJ and an amazing friend to all that knew you. I can't believe I'm saying this in past tense. It still doesn't sit right This has been a tough few years for you dealing with health challenges that made us all spring into action whenever we were needed to assist you during your toughest moments. You not being 100% affected us all... As I type these words, all of the cherished memories and years we have been blessed to share with you are flooding in. All of the deep conversations we shared over the years, the gut wrenching laughter that had us literally rolling on the ground holding our stomachs from joking around and making fun of our infamous collection of movies we had in rotation, the stupid fights we had but would easily make up an hour later cause that's what siblings do, to being able to say the words "ima get my big brother on you" in elementary knowing you'd drop whatever little boy messed with me back in the day, then again during Hamilton days when no guys wanted smoke cause of my brothers (and all your friends who are like brothers too lol), to simply chillen and enjoying your presence, along with a plethora of other memories.
It brings comfort to know that Dad was there to welcome you with open arms to help guide your spirit through your transition and to eternal peace. I know Granddaddy, both our Grannies, Anthony, Muj, and all of our other loved ones got you. You know we will make sure your precious baby girl Fallyn is more than taken care of for life. She has a village surrounding her that will continue to pour into her like she needs and keep your memory strong. We got her and Nicole always 🙏🏾💕 I love you so much and you will forever be in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers everyday. This is not a goodbye as I know our spirits will meet again someday. I will see you later big brother 🥺🙏🏾💔🕊
