And so I did a thing!!! My baby, Liberian Girl, officially launched in Liberia! What a special night for me. Love was truly in that room. From a dream… to a manuscript… to a red carpet moment back home. God is oh, so faithful!
On February 26th, I celebrated 26 inspiring “Liberian Girls.” Twenty six powerful women highlighted. Twenty six stories of resilience, brilliance, and impact. And here is the part that still gives me chills. The 26th is also Liberia’s celebration of independence. That date was completely unplanned. Let that sink in…
And of course, my Emily made a special guest appearance and she was loved by so many. Seeing her embraced so warmly reminded me why I started this journey in the first place. Representation matters. Our children deserve to see themselves in stories of courage and confidence.
Look out for Volume 2 of Liberian Girl, the 2nd edition of Emily Empowered titled Emily Empowers, and the debut of Monrovia Boy, all coming soon. We are building a generation that knows who they are.
