On this Mother’s Day, I honor these two beautiful women who are now with us in spirit and have become our angels. My mother and Lu shared so many of the same values — they did not play about family, and motherhood was sacred to them both. My mother poured into me from the very beginning. She had me in every program imaginable and traveling the world by the age of two. By 17, I had already experienced four countries on the African continent, several Caribbean islands, including her homeland of Antigua, and my father’s homeland of Guyana. She gave me a deep love and respect for culture, people, and the African diaspora. Her love for South Africa and Ghana shaped so much of how I see the world today. Lu carried that same spirit of love, belief, and community. She truly believed in people and the power of connection, and she was looking forward to embracing life on the continent as well. Both of these women carried vision, strength, grace, and a deep sense of purpose in how they loved others. Today, I honor not only what they gave to me, but what they gave to everyone fortunate enough to know them. Their spirit, wisdom, and love continue to guide us every day. ❤️

Today is my 50th birthday. 🎉 So much to be thankful for. I can imagine my mother calling me, singing some joyful tune that would somehow sound like a mix between a church choir and the greatest hits of Bob Marley. That spirit of joy, faith, soul, and resilience feels very present with me today. I’m thankful for this momentous season of transition. For the last couple of years, even while being surrounded by many great things, I honestly haven’t always felt like myself. But this transition is real, and I’m grateful to finally feel it happening. There’s something powerful about stepping into a new phase of life — trying new things, creating for myself again, and building spaces where art, culture, and community can meet through social impact. And hey… look at life. I’m here in Toronto — my second city — and I never realized how much Stevie and I would truly love it here. There’s something special about this place, its diversity, its energy, and the feeling of possibility. It also makes me happy knowing Jayla is excited to come visit and be part of this new chapter too. At 50, I feel thankful. I feel grateful. I feel blessed. Most importantly, I feel hopeful again. Here’s to continued growth, new beginnings, deeper purpose, family, community, creativity, and the journey ahead. – Steve Rhythm ✨

Stevie was convinced this was a rite of passage after seeing pictures of her 3 sisters with their braces... well, today she officially joined the club! 😂 This girl was so up and ready for this appointment. 🥰 🦷✨ #Sisters #RiteOfPassage #BracesLife

Happy 71st Birthday, Mom / Nana J I still feel you. I feel you gently placing your hands on us when we need a nudge, or providing that unmistakable mother’s touch right when the world feels the heaviest. Everything you poured into me when I was a young boy, and the wisdom you shared as I entered adulthood, has remained my only constant. Life has taught me lately that everyone wants to show up for the party, but nobody wants to show up for the setup or the cleanup. I’ve lost people on that front. I’ve also learned that working through the lens of others isn’t always about how great their vision is, but how they handle themselves without one. Loss has been a heavy teacher, but growth came right on its heels. It allowed me to recenter into my love for the arts, culture, and the culinary world—taking decades of experience and finally turning it into pure purpose and intent. And then there are these amazing girls. I am so proud to be their father. They bring so much light to this journey: • Jayla is lost in her books; I honestly think her collection will surpass yours and mine combined soon. • Stevie is my social butterfly—so much like you. She’ll be quiet for fifteen minutes and then walk away with a new best friend and an incredible story. • Maddy & Nomi are the career women, out there making moves and checking in just to let me know they’re still breathing! 😂 The world feels upside down right now, but that’s exactly why I’ve decided to head back to Canada. I’ve realized that “quality of life” isn’t just about what you can afford; it’s about proximity and what your environment does for your soul. Between the UAE, London, and the States, every place has its nuances, but it all comes down to humanity. All I can ask is that we continue to meet good people—God’s people. I am blessed to have a wonderful community—my “Board of Mothers,” I call them—but today we celebrate you. Thank you for the impact you left on me and everyone you touched. Happy Birthday, Mom. We’re still moving to the beat you set for us. 🕊️✨

They say you have to know where you’ve been to know where you’re going. 🎹✨ Lately, I’ve been back at the boards, digging through old and new sounds, and it hit me—my production DNA is heavy on Sly & Robbie right now!. I didn’t even realize how deep the influence went until I circled back to this classic. This was one of my mother’s favorite records. That signature “Taxi sound” from Black Uhuru! “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” is basically the blueprint for how I hear rhythm and bass. Funny how life works—what she was playing in the house decades ago is exactly what’s fueling my creativity today. 🔥 #SlyAndRobbie #BlackUhuru #ProductionLife #TaxiGang #RiddimRevolution718 StudioFlow Legacy ReggaeLegend

“They sailing on their ego trip, blast off in their spaceship, million miles from reality... no care for you, no care for me.” 🚀💨 Honoring Black History Month and the birthday of the Great Bob Marley by revisiting the Survival album. In 2026, these words hit just as hard as they did in ’79. If you’re feeling the weight of the world, put this on and let the frequency realign you. 👑🙌🏾 #BobMarley #Survival #BHM #ReggaeHistory #BabylonSystem

Needing to work is not the same as being ready to work. There is nothing wrong with being honest about taking time to rebuild your strength—spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical. Whether you’re navigating grief, anxiety, sorrow, or a life-altering transition, it’s okay to pause. Working simply to stay busy and calling it “therapeutic” isn’t always healing. True readiness comes when you’ve done the inner work—when your spirit is steady, your mind is clear, and your heart is open again. From that place, work becomes more than survival; it becomes service. And when you’re ready, you don’t just show up—you contribute with intention, clarity, and purpose, in a way that truly serves others.
